    OP,

I feel your pain. I would drive a Land Cruiser if my wife would let me. Of course, I would drive a Mercedes Wagon if my wife would let me. I love the Land Cruiser.

But that is a long way to go and a lot of money to spend just for a bigger seat. Not saying you shouldn't do it but your post says money is not unlimited. Have you looked at potentially replacing the seats? Or looking at another seating option? Just a thought.

The LC is indeed great. I have two friends who bought Land Cruisers new out of college. Paid a fortune but they are the only car they have ever bought and they are well into their 40s. Those things are tanks.

That said, I would scour the used market. Good values to be had and a 2 to 4 year old LC in good shape will run for 10 years without skipping a beat.

Best alternatives: the 4Runner (if the seat size may not be an issue) or a used Lexus alternative to the 4Runner. Those are some beastly vehicles and they can be found on the used market.

Are you sure the Tundra is not going to work for you?

In the end it’s your money and your choice, you need to live with it and if you’re happy in the end then good.

I bought a 2020 in January and have no regrets myself, but I also kept my Tacoma because I do use it as a truck.

I didn’t want the heritage and was able to get them down to $80k. No plans to mod and just had the chrome deleted.

Gas mileage is as bad as everyone says. I call her the SS Greta Thunberg.

My average fill up is 362mi and 18.4gal and can comfortably get to 400mi per tank. I'd hate to walk back from that average.

Highly recommend Scheel-Mann seats if you do reseat, which is a great idea that I seemed to have overlooked myself.

    This is 100% true. The wife's 2019 get 12 MPG city/Hwy and off-road. My 1969 FJ40 get 12 MPG city/hwy/off-road/rocks. If I tow the FJ40 behind the 200 I still get 12 MGP, slowing down from 75 to 55 helps a lot.

All lifted on 32's or 33's:

    LX470 - 11
    GX470 - 14
    18 TACO - 14

I've had several 4runners, a Taco, GX. The LC is the best. Tacoma is a close second though. I'm looking for a project 1st or 2nd gen Taco to pair with my LC.

Right. It is unclear if it is just the seats or the entire cabin room. But before I spent $80K I would definitely look for more comfortable seats.

Of course, the OP could try driving one of these. Nothing like couch comfort on the road:

Hahaha! Those are uncorrected miles since new. I'm at 38k now and went with one size larger ATs last year. So, the last 12k get a +5% correction.

On the metric side, I wish we'd convert, but L/100km cramps my brain.

I lived in Japan for 6 months this year, there are so many awesome off road vehicles to be had over there, and so many JDM turbo options!

I can never get my head around bolstered performance seats in a 4x4, esp getting in a lifted one over a hip bolster. But they are comfy once they're in. I know a few folks have swapped BRZ/FR-S seats into tacomas in a similar fashion before.

I don't think you guys have the draconian import rules that we have?

Still, with quality increasing, the ones coming in under the 25yr rule are still in very good shape. There's even a couple lots around here that only deal in the special imports. It is great seeing them on the road, esp the 4x4s and kei cars. I saw a Honda Beat a while back.

If any of you come to Salt Lake City for anything, be sure to stop by the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum.
