You may want to look for any 2013+, 200 series, with reasonable miles vs. reasonable price.

Most are used as mall cruisers, some (small %) do haul horse trailers & campers & boats, etc.

If properly maintained and some luck you'll go 20 years & 500K miles.

Look at how many MY 2000, 100 series are still running around and what a nice stock one sells for on auto trader.

If you buy it have it thoroughly PPI'd by someone who knows what they are doing when looking at the KDSS and rust.

If your buying a used one and find a decent deal, drive it for a year and if you hate it (which I doubt will be the case) you can always sell it and probably the adventure of owning a 200 series will only have cost you a few grand $$$.

The new 300 series is coming and there is a big rush to get the last of the V-8's, the HE Edition will sell for over sticker in a lot of places.

Go to: iH8mud for your 200 series education.

My 200 series gets around 12 miles to the gallon.

Low 8 MPG all city and best ever 19.6 was driving at 45-50MPH on real 100% gasoline.

Real 100% highway driving 17-18MPG at 70 to 80 MPH.

Honestly, I have seen several import firetrucks running around.

I haven't looked at 4x4 prices, but the car side has been pretty reasonable.

If only I had some project space and a little play budget.

Looks good, I'd like to see the bronze heritage wheels on there. I wouldn't mind having a Barcelona red Tundra with the heritage wheels in bronze, but those wheels are pricey.

I thought it would have been really cool to pick one up. Not only because I get a diesel jdm landcruiser, but because you got to keep the firefighting station/unit thing in the back. The kids would LOVE playing on that thing in the backyard...couldn't convince my wife that I was buying a 13k playset for the kids though...lol.

I don't even want to make a joke about the wildfire situation, so I'll hold back there.

The fact that you can get the full deal is pretty sweet.

I looked at many Land Cruisers downgrading from the Tundra to an SUV. I found the later model LC's don't have the stock ground clearance compared to earlier models. Steadily went from 12", to 11", to 9.5".

F that for that amount of money. Used 4.7l 4Runner made more sense with 9.4" stock ground clearance and can tow 7000lbs.

Yep, and if my 03 Tacoma DCSB is no longer in my possession or waded up, '97 LC is in my future.
Diesel is preferred as I don't need to go fast, just want stump pulling power.
