Word. I'm headed to some breaks country on a friends property going to be my first time messing around in that stuff. Taking the wife and meeting up with a friend out there too.

We need more western hunters on this thread!

@Zeke588 Ive always looked at the Breaks and thought it looked like great muley country. Hopefully someday I'll make it up to Montana but as of right now I have to many hunts and not enough vacation haha.

It's my understanding that Remington continued with them. I may be wrong.

They did. I believe Remington bought Barnes. Same projectile but different everything else. The originals were dynamite!

Some Bigguns get pulled out of there every year. They opened the cmr for a few more weeks of season a couple years ago I believe. Nasty Chit in there. Isn't really steep per say but its all that up and down that gets ya. I'm planning on spending about 2 weeks combined in there this year.

I hear ya on the Hunt/vacation time ratio lol.

Hey DeWayne! Been spending lots of time @ our cabin, my Dad keeps adding projects. I reminded him this Saturday season starts. Trying something different this year, bought two doghouse portable stands. Easy to relocate but not used to hunting off the ground. Setting up both stands tomorrow after work along the edge of fields where I took the brush hog and cleared a spot by backing in and pulling forward. Probably not explaining right. Crossbow tuned in and ready for season!

Bow starts here Saturday.this buck has been here for quite a few years. 2017 pic and fuzzy pic was last year.get tons of pics then he disappears. one guy has him pretty regular on camera this year. trying to get him this week before he goes underground. my answer was he is smart and knocks his horns off so he can stand out in the fields and look like a doe.LOL F8559621-1047-4F20-8B46-FCA2FE131477.jpg119644AB-5B9E-4A6E-88DC-C7CDF892F2A1.jpg

Set up my doghouses this afternoon. Have three other spots ready to move if needed. Also have three ladder stands I can alternate to. Last picture is shooting lane leading up to my one ladder where I killed a buck in archery three years ago. More prepared this year than any other year I can recall. Thinking I will fill a couple flat top tags first. Charged up!
