Nice! The wife and I are planning on getting one for our camper soon, I want one I can park my truck under as well. Probably 30’ x 30’ x 12’ wall height.
Trying to decide if I want to do a VersaTube DIY kit or just hire the whole thing in.
    Looking good!

This one is 18’w x 36’Lx 10’ post. I ordered it 12’ post but we got to measuring and it would have been way too high so they cut 2’ off the legs. Took two guys ~4 hours to put it up and drive off

It really is. Wish we would have done it when we bought the camper 5 years ago, would have saved me two spots of water damage inside from the roof leaking.

Which one you like best, horizontal or vertical?

I run a Trak DPMV5 bed mill, 3 axis. Very user friendly and I love it.

The ones I’m eyeing are fully enclosed on 3 sides, and unfortunately I need the width to open up the porch on my camper to get inside. That must have been a good feeling parking it in there. I know what you mean about chasing leaks, it seems like a constant battle with campers!

I told one of these guys I may close the farthest side all the way in, he said I can do that for you. I said you do side work? He said yes. I said I want to add a lean to on one side 12’ out by 20’ long, he said let me know I can do it. We want to do that for the kids birthday parties :taco:

Uhh it depends, they both have their ups and downs. Horizontal overall I would have to say but its a pain to try and make sure your 90° side is clearing on a setup. The shop I'm at now also has a Mikron 5axis, DMG Mori mill-turn and a hardinge cnc lathe

This is what happens when you miss a decimal place in your program and put -2.000 instead of -.200. Luckily I caught it and turned it around. Will weld it up and roll on.

    Morning guys!
Saw some of this on my shop floor this morning too, countersink was too deep so fill and drill it went!
Here’s our mill, an older Milltronics RH20. Being a sheet metal shop it doesn’t see too intense use. We mostly use it as a glorified drill press in all reality. Mostly programmed offline with MasterCam.
I designed some shielding doors for it so it’s slightly safer.

I can’t imagine those types of tolerances, +-.005 is about as close as we need on most stuff!
Do you need to QC at 68* like some places require? I was touring a customer’s facility once and the QC room was something to see, huge granite slab tables that were planished 100% smooth temperature controlled for true tolerance measurement.
I asked them if our parts would be seeing this room! (Nervously, lol)

Here’s our 3 mills. The first one is my baby, 3 axis cnc. The second one is 2 axis cnc. The third one is a Bridgeport copy, basically a drill press now.

These are on the side of the shop I work on. There’s only 2 of us out here in the shop, the other guy runs the 2 cnc lathes on the other side. I run the mill and do all our welding, he does the lathe work and some mill work. He’s about 60ish and a super talented machinist.
