    Thought I'd ask this here:

I'm using Gorilla Glue Construction adhesive to stick a ceramic soap shelf to a tile wall in my shower, and then applying bath caulking to seal the edges and make it look nice.

The glue label says it take 24 hours to fully cure, but should I wait for full cure before sealing it off with the caulking? The glue holds within 30 seconds, but I'll be propping it up for a bit to make sure it holds in place since it a little heavy for grabbing and holding in that short of a time. Just wondering how long I should wait before sealing it off with the caulk.

    Thanks in advance!

I'd wait until tomorrow to let it cure. Same reason you want to wait a few days before you grout your tile, you need to let the setting mud dry. It gives the moisture a chance to escape.

Thanks for the answer, that's exactly what I was wondering about. Thought if I sealed it off too early, it wouldn't cure/dry completely. I'll glue it on, and wait the full 24 hours.

It was a Kreative solution. ;)
All the attics, there are six of them, have a gable vent on one side only, no eaves. There are four rows of 6” holes on the roof deck between the facia and ridge, four in each bay. I was able to get one of Risinger Builders old GC’s to come take a look. He was equally baffled, but we eventually came up with a solution.

I’ve never seen anything like this, ever.

I got a headache just from looking at it. I’m guessing the builder didn’t think through the architects plans very well.

Still a “Hot” roof anyway you slice it. Not really an efficient way of venting given the heat y’all experience there.

So the tile is already there and you're gluing a soap dish to the existing tile? Wondering bc my shower doesn't have a soap dish or any shelves. we just have a hanging wire rack from the shower head that I hate

The house also has an interior vapor barrier, not the right science for Texas, a mold factory.

yea, thats pretty much exactly what I'm doing. Its one of these:

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Daltile...r-Shelf-Tile-in-White-RE15BA780CC1P/302617387

I have one installed already, I can take a pic when I get home if you want.

When I glued that one, I unintentionally had to wait like two days to seal it off with caulking anyway, so the cure time issue was moot. I'm getting around to installing the second one this week.

That’s where I initially went, then I thought of doing it by taking the roof decking off. Close off the literal half assed gable vent and make the attic part of the envelope. It’s a 6,000 square foot house. :spending:

Because this system seems to be “working”, we are going to try leave the “system” in place. 1x4’s running perpendicular to the ridge, gapped to allow cross flow, placed on the existing decking over the rafters. New decking installed over that, wip, then a ventilation mat and metal roof. We are putting 1” Co-A-Vent behind the drip edge at the facia, and a vent at the ridge. Not ideal, but should allow those vents to continue doing what the are doing.

The original plan was to waterproof the existing decking, run 1x4’s at a 45, and install the Cor-A-Vent behind the drip edge.
