Hey peeps, I figured there were other Maritimer's on here... Picking up my truck on Wednesday, what a job to find anything to buy... managed to find one in Amherst toyota, well found it but it was vaporware until last Thursday when it arrived on the lot. Drove up Friday to look at it and did up the sales agreement after driving it. 2020 Offroad premium in Voodoo blue with 1km on it lol. \

haha, i'll let ya know. Heading into the wood in a couple weeks. one advantage of desert overlanding is the lack of trees.

 

Thanks to @Canoehead I finally got the "camp house" finished and road tested.
took it camping on Friday with the boys, Worked out pretty good!

regarding Tacomas, is it me or are there just none around for sale, the one I ended up getting was in Amherst and that was only because I had called and they said they had one coming in on Sept 6th. Got a call last week on Thursday that it was here and went up Friday to look. Called Oregans and they couldn't even find one for me to look at , nothing on the lot in either Halifax or Dartmouth. Is it because the 21s are out? they didn't even have any of them to look at.

I've been reading in threads here that the shutdown hurt production really bad. From what I am hearing dealers that usually keep 30+ in stock in the states are sitting there with 1 or 2 on the lot right now and no idea when more will come. I think it'll clear up over the next few months.

were you looking for a 2nd gen or 3rd gen?
the wholesale place by the bridge has a blue 2nd Gen Access Cab V6 for $10k ish, its got a bit of rocker damage but otherwise looks OK, mind you I just did a quick drive by and did not see any large puddles or massive rust holes in the body so who knows.

 

I like Krown, but honestly I think either rust check or krown do an equal job. they are both "goopy" and both seep into places.

Ive had bad experiences with those hard coatings like Diamond undercoat. my opinion is that they trap moisture, and rust your rig from the inside out.

I go with Krown since the PO used Krown, and its really close to my house, and its done a really really good job of keeping the frame cherry all these years

I wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys, I just picked up mine today. Met a couple tacos on the way home from Amherst , I drive a motorbike so I will probably wave at all tacoma drivers as a force of habit. Downloaded Wikiloc and Alltrails to see where i can go to play...

 

Fingers crossed, apparently someone came in Friday after I looked at mine and wanted to buy it. Crazy. They have none now.
