Finally have something to contribute after reading a fair amount of this thread a couple times. TRD Offroad on 255/85 R16 KM3s on Tacoma Pro wheels on my stock suspension.

The tires were great. Aired down to 20ish on trails and lower when we drove to Great Sand Dunes

The tires rubbed in the front in pretty limited situations on trail with the wheels turned. Never had any issues straight ahead. I never had any issues on-road or in parking lots. Trails in this case means passes that off-roading pages marked as moderate. For people who know the area, I was on Tin Cup pass and Medano pass.

How is the ride quality on those? My buddy has them in 285 and it seems pretty plush around town.

I'm used to garbage coil-overs and 200TW rubber band sidewall tires on track cars. The Tacoma has always felt really soft to me so I'm probably a bad judge.

Hey guys. Been reading a lot on this post and I was hoping to get some direction. I have a 2019 TRD OR with a Rough Country 2” leveling kit in the front. I’m looking to possibly get 255/85R16 on a wheel with a 0 to -12 offset. Do any of you think that I will run into any rubbing issues?

You shouldn’t, except maybe on the front mud flaps.

Gotcha. Yea those are already off due to my trash nerf tubes that I will eventually replace.

Another question for you folks. Running these tires have any of you found the need to regear and do you think running a 33” tire could have any negative effects to your drivetrain?

I re-geared to 5.29s, and would do 4.88s if I had to redo it.

I’m pretty ok with the stock AT gears on 33’s, but when towing I wish I had more gearing, leaning towards 4.56 or 4.88’s. I’ll have a better idea once I put my snow tires back as they’re stock size.

Why not just go 265 75 16. I've honestly been looking at skinny 33s but the 265 just look better imo.

I’m running 275/70r17(32.2”) but will try the 255/80r17 Cooper st max for my next set. Love the tall skinny look.

Spent 24+ hours on interstate and a weekend off-roading after getting them mounted. Manual trans seems to do just fine, but I've always thought the truck was pretty slow to begin with. I noticed going up hills I'd have to go to 3/4 instead of 5/6.

Truck is dirty but looks so much better now on these 255-85-16 Cooper ST/maxx

5100's all round front set at 1.1" 3rd clip stock coils
    Re-gear 4.88's
    SCS F5's 16x8 4.5"BS +0mm Offset

Need to do some work to get the spare to fit under the truck.

Looks fantastic. CMC required? Pinch weld smash? Love it.

    @StealYourFace
No CMC or pinch weld smash needed, no rubbing at all so far. Not flexed it yet off-road. Full crank left and right forward & reverse and no clearance issues.
Thanks I'm stoked with the way my truck looks.

These look GREAT! Seems every tire is a little different but I'm often surprised how well some of the skinnier tires fit on such a wide wheel. Yours don't look stretched really at all compared to the 285's you normally see on 8" wide wheels.

I don't think they looked stretched at all

The skinny tires are still 10.5" wide, there is no way they would be "stretched" on a 8" wide rim.

I'm running my 255's on an 8.5" wheel. I don't think i'd want to go any wider though.

great looking truck, dude. I've been watching this thread for a while now. And I think my next set of tires will be skinny's.
