Had it posted for like 2-3 weeks?

I paid no attention to the inquiries I received due to all the other priorities.

I'm really glad @jbrandt took looking into camp spots for us at Moab, I owe it to him.

On top of not being able to get my 4R done, I'm going to possibly run stock front suspension, get my tires put on, and rush to get my ice chests from storage.

 

yeah that trip is really coming up on us quick, I need to start getting my stuff ready. Gotta do some oil changes on the truck and pick up a few things. I have a tendency to always get ready for camping trips at the last minute but I don't think that will fly with a trip like this lol

 

Good thing is Moab isn’t small, you can always buy whatever you might forget, there.

 

Have fun at Moab for me guys! Im still dealing with steering thats getting squirrellier everyday.. only burnt out the bushings on my lower arms, still need to burn out the upper arms, then install new bushings... then rebuild the steering rack and pump.

Then install it all I really wish I could hold off until I bought new front coilovers so I could slap those in at the same time as the arms


Oh yea plus redo my ball joints with OEM ones cause I'm scared of putting more than 10k on these chinese knockoffs lol

With those pics you showed me, you're like half way there with the front. You could probably skip the UCAs for now and just get the shocks and diff drop in there. Easy peasey.

If you do the UCAs, just put the plugs for the spindle adapters in the freezer over night. Mine went in like butter. And definitely rent/buy the C-clamp style balljoint press.

I'd offer up a build day at your place, but I'm chock full of shit to do as well.

Yeah but the front were giving me too much of a tough time to fumble with a back thats ok, but not at its best.

Those misalignment bushings only turn so much; I need the entire bottom portion to turn/twist and it wouldn't budge.

 

Yeah me too, like camping supplies and what not. But in my experience parks and such that are big attractions for out of towners tend to add a convenience tax to most things

 

I was thinking about that last night, the lower eyelet is replaceable and does come off...how it comes off exactly I'm not sure, but someone on here must know. I just know they sell that part separately for people that are rebuilding after theirs gets destroyed (ahem @JKO1998 )

Yeah definitely don't want to remove it lol I need to turn it separately in relation to the coil bucket.

 

yeah I was just thinking maybe it can turn a little more, or maybe it needs to come off and be reattached while oriented a different way so the bottom lines up with the LCA mount more easily

Do you have resi's on the front, too? Is there a left/right coil?

I remember thinking that was the case with mine, and switching sides got the eyelets closer, but I still had to twist the lowers to align correctly.

My first instinct was to twist them, but it was a bit of a push, so I emailed the guy at DownSouth Motorsports, and he pretty much made me feel like a dummy. He's like, yeah, you just twist it. He didn't say it, but I know he was wondering if I forgot my purse.

Just get the 3 bolts on top snugged down, then get a long screwdriver or pipe in the eyelet and twist it. Be a man.

Then, when I got it all together I tried bouncing on the bumper and it didn't move at all. I freaked (again) and emailed the DSM guy and he again made me feel dumb. He's like, "have you tried driving it?" lol - no, I hadn't. It was fine, just had some stiction from sitting. He was super nice about it, but I knew I was asking dumb questions.

 

Yeah and I'd be surprised if that's what he needed to do in this case, seems excessive...I can't think why else the lower eyelet isn't lining up with the lower shock mount on the LCA. Mine was a little off, the misalignment spacers just needed to be tapped aggressively with a mallet until they were in the right place. But it sounds like his are way off

 

I think I used a 6" long 3/8" or 1/2" drive extension to get mine lined up... and then I took the bolt and hammered it through

 

Actually, now that I think about it, that's probably what I used, too.

 

I'm kind of enjoying reading the 3rd gen supercharger threads now that a few guys have installed the new 3rd gen Magnuson supercharger, and most of them are disappointed in it lol. People's expectations have been way overblown since there was talk about a 3rd gen supercharger in 2016

The 2020 I spent a lot of time in this summer felt fine.
I was drunk in the passenger seat 50% of the time but still
