You bugger, lol. I didn't realize they were dropping that color till it was too late. I'm not looking to buy till next summer anyways but I'm not happy that color is gone. Now I'm trying to decide on a plan B, silver was #1 for me forever.

You got $4500 off?! I want to shop local but here they barely budge, looks like a drive to Edmonton is in order when it's time.

I would wait if you could. My 2016 TRD Sport 6MT was written off in May and in June I got a 2020 TRD Sport Premium 6MT for $45,000 CAD ($33,900 USD) with the Pro skid plate and Weathertech style floormats. Dealers are now sticking to $49,000 CAD ($36,900 USD) with nothing in. They have no incentive to give deals due to the low stock. Used units are also going up in price. One 2 years old with 50,000kms is going for what I paid new.

Looks like your question was already answered, but the main one I was thinking of was crawl control being changed. Plus lots of little things vs 2017 such as some upgrades are no longer compatible with the 2020, not to mention they got rid of the large storage compartment in the bed. Then there's TSS, which isn't really an issue, just another thing... Unless you need a new windshield that is. From what I've seen, 2017 was kind of the golden child as long as you got the transmission update. Some of that is personal opinion too though.

Yeah, untill you see said things happen in real life. Such as CC not working (TFL video), or the numerous product upgrades that are no longer compatible. Not to mention the visuals (chrome bezels inside the tail lights just look out of place).

I thought about just waiting for a used one but when they offer 1.99% financing it's hard to justify the price difference. I worked it out to be less then 5k in the current market. I'd rather pay an extra 3-5k to get a brand new truck.

I live in BC, I was being quoted roughly 54.5k OTD for a 2020 Sport with about $1500 worth of accessories. Ended up paying 51k even for the exact same truck in Alberta. After I got my price from Alberta I emailed a few dealers I was dealing with in BC my quote. They couldn't come close. The best one dealer could do was $52,500 with none of the accessories I was asking for. Quite a joke, but clearly the market is alot stronger in BC. I basically paid 200 CAD less then Msrp on a base sport model with $1500 worth of accessories for free. I've seen better deals posted in this thread but I was willing to pay a little extra for the exact truck I wanted. I feel I did pretty good considering today's market.

lol. if you think Toyota can launch a truck with zero issues, then that's just ignorant. Every single product ever launched has issues. Not saying the tacoma is perfect. But tacomaworld does an excellent job at throwing jet fuel on the fire and spreading crap like coronavirus. one person says they are having issue X or a noise from X, and everyone all of sudden has the same issue and we all lose our minds. drive your truck. be happy with it or get rid of it and find the next thing to complain about.

I never said zero issues, please don't put words in my mouth. I, however, am talking about common issues that were not issues before which is not typical of a product that hasn't seen a redesign or generation change.

They're pretty popular in south BC for sure, probably keeping the sales price up too. You sound like you did good on your deal. Full size trucks are more popular around me, and diesels, that should keep the prices lower but I assume there's more competition in the bigger cities which keep prices even lower.

I haven't seen anything close to 1.99% yet but I'd be tempted to pull the trigger earlier if they offered that now, on the Toyota site it's much higher. I haven't had a truck payment in 17 years so I'm struggling bringing that back into my life. I don't need a new truck but mine's getting a bit older and higher miles, plus I've never bought something brand new and I feel I should treat myself.

I wouldn't really say those are viable complaints to say a '20 would be a bad upgrade from a '17. I mean if you were to say there were oil burning issues, transmission failures, electrical issues, etc. on just the '20 MY, than those would be viable complaints.

What? They've been offering 1.49% and 1.99% since at least June of this year. Check their website again because its definitely still on there. Yeah ive been driving a 95 4Runner for 10 years. Not looking forward to payments, but I put half the cost of the truck down so payments shouldn't be to bad and should have it paid off in 2 or 3 years.

My Toyota dealer has no new Tacoma’s on the lot.
The dealer one town over has one 2020 4 cylinder SR.

I did a lot of calling around. I'm looking for a black TRD OR DCSB with premium package and the best I found is 6% off MSRP. But most dealers are in the range of 0-4%. The difficulty is finding the truck in transit, at the right options, at the right price, and putting a $500 deposit to hold it. I have a deposit at a dealer that gave me 6%, but I think they're waiting for allocation to them. Part of me wants to give up and wait until after my brazil trip, but i'm too damn stubborn.

It was enough to mess with the factory roof rack as was mentioned.

Yeah, definitely the majority opinion. I'm one of the rare exceptions. Now that I swapped from my 2017 to 2020, I am glad I did. Sure, I never got the transmission update with the 2017 which compared to the 2020 is a huge difference. But I wanted TSS, as I have one kid with their learner's and have another who will get theirs soon. There really isn't anything I miss from my 2017 that my 2020 has, other than it takes a little bit of extra force to close the driver door now, but even that feels solid. All in who needs what I presume. The 2017 wasn't bad, but IMO the 2020 offered more safety and convenience while the kids learn to drive.
