Ive just resorted to ignoring the problems. Like the loud clunk that happened ~2 years ago now and provide funky noises when stopping and idling. I mean everything works so just dont touch it right? Only added ~15k miles since then

    It's the new normal!

Like we say at work, "yeah it's making some noise, it's fine. When it stops making noise then it's probably time to give it some attention."

    Things definitely don't fix themselves.

I heard the next one is confirmed for a fisticuffs in a Chili’s parking lot.

Marketshare makes a difference. ID is right to work, which holds back wages in E WA. There are a lot of people commuting from Post Falls and CDA to Spokane everyday for work to get higher wages. Minimum wage in WA is about $13 now. I think ID is still under $10.
There are also a metric fuckton of ma and pop electrical outfits out here from all the individuals who are getting by on their own rather than be part of a shop like Valley, Veca, or Cochran. The big shop over here is Powercity.

So CVJ will core if it’s repairable which it appears it would be but will confirm when I tear down later.

anyone running RCV? I think it hardly be worth it with just running 33s and also don’t want to blow up any internal differential components.

I think they're more concerned about the axle shaft and splines, not the outer joints. RCV isn't worth it unless you're going really hard.

Awesome, my boots were always rubbing, but they never tore from that yet. As for RCV is what I thought too. My buddy that has a full buggy build on his ranger runs them but he’s climbing boulders and shit lol.

You can stretch the boots out and re-clamp them so they don't rub.

yeah I had wondered that. I think CVJ is still cheaper than OEM so probably going that route as I don’t trust the auto parts ones too much for the trail more so as a pinch part.

I guess there’s Lotus development as well for axles but haven’t really heard muc about them

I've probably put 100k miles on the $60 Cardone thermoplastic boot axles from rock auto without an issue and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. The only issue with those is that if you have EXT travel coil-over without limit straps they will bind at full droop.

Thanks for the information man, I also found some direct OEM re manufactures from Toyota dealerships for just $45 more than Cardone so thinking I could just go that route and keep the Dormans I ordered for trail repair.
