It started because I needed to replace my ball joints. I have the older style that had the rubber bushings as well. So I used this as an opportunity to overhaul them. Pulled them off the truck and removed the balljoint and burned out the rubber bushings. Then I just went over the arms with a wire wheel and an angle grinder, getting them mostly raw steel. Then I just spray painted them black. Added new ball joints and poly bushings and good to go.

Thanks. I haven't ordered yet. Waiting to hear back from them if I can order without the red powder coat. If not I guess I will need to remove/mask off the joints

Unfortunately, they won't send them raw. Luckily the ball joint and bushings are very easy to remove so you can paint them something else if you want.

Rats... I will just remove, should be simple enough. Either going to go black like you did, or try and find a matching blue from the kings, but idk if that would be too overkill or not.

My reason for going black was because I wanted the kings to be the center of attention in the wheel well. Their colors really pop against the all black rest of suspension.

I color matched a friends JBA with his MGM truck. Those came out killer and were pretty subtle. Let me try and find a pic.

I might go to a different UCA for more tire clearance. I have 3.6" backspacing up front and I still rub my UCA a little at full lock. It's just part of the ball joint design. I think if I had something with a smaller footprint, like some dirt king ones, it wouldn't be an issue.

So no? I won't go back?
