They will be dropping the tank. In fact, they will advise you to show up for your scheduled replacement.... with fuel tank being nearly empty. It makes it easier for a Tech to drop a nearly empty tank vs. a full one.

Well, dealer just called me to get this scheduled. He asked me to only have a 1/4 tank of gas in it when I drop it off as they need to drop the tank. I am shocked my dealer actually called to set this up. I figured I would have to fight them to do it just like everything else. FWIW I live in the PNW. 10/16 appt.

Edit: Could have gotten it taken care of as early as 10/9, but with quarter/FY end I will still be slammed at that time.

Well, I experienced fuel pump issues yesterday. Couldn’t accelerate and that thing almost died. I even looked at what gear I was in thinking I put it in wrong gear. Pulled into parking lot and it finally died. Called to get towed, but they wanted to charge me cause I wanted it towed closer to home. Long story short. I made it home after waiting a little bit and truck finally turning on with no issues.

had this issue on my old Passat. It actually died on the freeway a few times. Didn’t panic and put in neutral and started her back up.

Just got mine done yesterday. Only took about 4 hours. My dealership advised they’re opening the service department on Sunday’s to handle all the appointments.

I started my truck up today, backed out of the driveway, and noticed that the check engine light was on. Started to drive forward, and my truck hesitated to accelerate to a higher gear. Called my Toyota dealer and they told me to bring it in right away. When I got there, they told me that it was most likely my fuel pump and that they would replace it today, or tomorrow at the latest.

Called on the 1st of October. Said they had to order the parts. They just called back and said the part(s) were in. Scheduled an appointment for the 19th. Could have done it the 12th but they wouldn't have a loaner then. Glad to finally get this done and am kind of curious if it solves the weird hesitation I get sometimes. Oh and my service person said bring the truck with 3/4 of a tank or less. I'm going to go with as little as possible to make it easy on the tech fixing it.
