What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Does anyone know if the TSS emblem is easy to replace in this grille? I.e. if I wanted to get rid of it and replace it with the one from the 2017 TRD OR Grille since I don't have TSS.

 

It's 4 clips. I broke one thinking I was going to remove it to apply the tint. Not sure if they are in the same location as the regular logo. These are kinda at 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock.

No doubt. I went with OEM too. I dont understand whata different between the OEM and aftermarket but there is somehow

I got a deal with the shop I go to so mine was a bit less than that, otherwise yeah...probably 2.5k is a good estimate.

You can also add some cost if you put in a locker in the front. Personally, I decided against that but if the front diff is apart it's *presumably* a good idea to add then.

My thought is that a front locker is only going to get me into more trouble than it's going to get me out of.

 

I bought some ultra-reflective black vinyl on Amazon like the stuff you see on cop cars and ambulances. I used it to black out the "Tacoma" on my Empyre Off-Road grille.

Now during the day it's blacked out but at night when the light hits it, it's bright as hell!

 

I had great success with Turtle Wax bug and tar remover. And it won't damage your paint. After using wash and as the area and you will be good to go !

Been pondering about wrapping the bottom of my tailgate too... I'm a little concerned about getting good adhesion in the TACOMA stamp on the gate. I don't have a wrap buddy. I'd be curious if there's any tips for the TACOMA stamp.

 

Where are you located? I see CA. Wrap Armor in Anaheim is who did mine and they also sell a precut if you want to take it on yourself. Mike, the owner, is really chill too so he would probably be happy to answer questions.

 

I'm gonna guess and say he'll use his propane torch and one of his special tools. I'll let you know when he does it. Don't know yet but it should be within a week.
