Boss man had this disc laser cut. It’s so smooth the coax indicator barely jumps.

    .008 (actually .2 mm .00787) hole in 304
It intersected a 4mm hole from the other end.
I will see what else I can dig up that I have pictures of.

Since we’ve moved onto micro things we’ve made. Here’s a tiny bicycle that we cut out on our laser. The material is 11 gauge stainless (.120”)
This was a demo program that we have from when we bought our laser.
It took me a while to find it in my junk drawer!

#1, how do they make a drill bit that small.

#2, how do you drill it in anything, much less stainless :boom:

Thanks for sharing, that is really cool

I’ve got a tiny set in my toolbox, I’ll see if I can find it tomorrow. I think it goes down to .015” is it.

Boss man took this to get tested today. They need it to hold 2,000 lbs. It was tested at 4,064 lbs, 10 times for 30 seconds each time. The graphs are near identical for all 10 pulls.

I was a little nervous, I’ve never had anything tested I’ve welded. I’ve also never been to school for welding or machining.

When I was 10 years old I ask my dad to show me how to weld with his Lincoln buzz box that he still has and uses. That was 1985, I remember it like it was yesterday.

I didn’t touch a mig welder until I was 20 years old when I started in this machine shop, that was 25 years ago.
