I read this entire thread trying to decide if I should get 275/70R17 tires for my truck. I decided to pull the trigger and thought I’d post to help others that had similar questions to me!

My big question was “will they rub at all off-roading”. I’ve now taken my truck with these tires off road on a couple moderate trails. Experienced full flex, k-turns reversing with wheels completely turned, larger moguls and rocks, etc... and have had ZERO rubbing.

Another question I had that I couldn’t find answers for, so I gambled, was “would a fifth tire of this size fit under the bed?”
Again, the answer here is yes it does fit! With no necessary modification.

My setup is TRD pro 17” matte black wheels and BFG K02s 275/70R17 tires.

A couple notes on the tires...
I don’t notice any more road noise than the stock tires. I don’t notice too much of a power loss due to tire weight. I do notice a slight drop in MPG, but only 1-2 less.

The ko2 will get a little louder in time but not too bad. Have 20k miles on mine and can hear the tires more than when new. Just an FYI.

Very helpful post. Tires look great on your truck. I’m pretty set that 275/70/17 will be my next tire size, just trying to decide between the KO2s and the Wildpeaks...

Like most of you the tire debate in my head is making me go insane. Looking at the DCSB pics the 275's look good with a 2.5 lift. However the DCLB they look too small and don't balance out well. If you have 2.5 lifte DCLB with 275's please post some side shots. Functionality is key but looks matter as this is also my daily driver.

    Thanks in advance.

Off topic, but can you post a picture of that remote control (assumed) taco? Is it also on (scale) 275’s?

Everything is as close to scale and I could get Had to have custom wheels made and tires are almost exact to scale.Spent 6mo building this to be as close as possible to original. Only thing a little off scale are the Cases. mini1.jpg mini2.jpg mini3.jpg mini4.jpg mini5.jpg Spent 6mo building this to be as close as possible to original. if I were to run 275/70/17 on stock suspension with -12 offset wheels (they're 17x9), would I have any rubbing? I don't mind trimming just a little, but don't wanna be doing a CMC or anything like that

so I may rub? I plan on doing a lift in the future, but won’t be for a while.

Dunno... I have 17x9 -30 haven’t installed because of not being sure on tire size, I’m planning on going 275/65/17 due to the offset and just lifting 1 inch on the front with billies

Most likely you will run with that size on stock. A 1 inch spacer may take care of that. I hear a lot of guys have minimal rubbing with 265/70r17 at full lock going over bumps with mud flaps still on.

I just got my 265/70 r17 with TRD Pro Sema rims and putting them on soon. Currently stock suspension. We shall see what happens. Hopefully a little heat and pushing on the fender walls is all I need.

You will undoubtedly rub. Plastic cutting/molding may mitigate everything, but can’t say for sure that a CMC won’t be necessary. Don’t expect to run any mud flaps up front either.

The main thing is not the size itself but the offset... it sets the tire closer to the cab and the fender when turning, not like pro wheels and others at 0 offset... I would think it I’ll be fine with just some trimming... probably... let us know I would like to see... I guess that wheel is a Ray 10
