Gunshot tune bro. I'm actually just trying to figure out how to modify the rolling antilag to work and not grenade the taco. Cause I'd like to no lift shift it, but I can't risk blowing up the weak ass semi float toyota axle haha.

The real solution here is to just give up and donate the taco to me

Yup, the R&P is the biggest weakness.

my buddy used to run toyota axles in competition buggies. Says he's only ever broken one shaft.

The truggy is rocking a welded IFS rear on 37x14.50s for the last 10 years

The shafts shear off all the time at the drive flange, or twist at the splines. And the diff is poorly supported and rips the pinion teeth right off. They're baby trucks and come with baby drivelines, this isn't news, it's just annoying with power.

How many have you personally seen shear?

I've witnessed 0 factory Toyota shaft failures in 10 years of wheeling with people on 37-40s. R&P, sure. Shafts no.

I've personally witnessed two broken shafts. And 1 exploded diff. They can be temporarily avoided with chromoly shafts, but you'll just find yourself bending the axle housing or putting cracks in it. And I have twisted splines (not to failure, but they're twisted and stuck) on the LC

To be fair, they seem to last well on the old weak 4 banger trucks that do slow rock wheeling. It's speed, power, and weight as with everything else that break em. Little rock buggies don't see the same stress

I’ve never seen destroyed shafts. Tons of eaten pinions. I have had a lot of bent axle shafts from off-roading around here. But never damaged to the point they wouldn’t move the truck

We've seen lots of bent ones too, it's a failing of semi float designs. Takes out the wheel bearing sometimes, and sometimes it takes a while to kill the bearing cause it doesn't kill the shaft seal immediately.
