    Good Morning, All!!

Ya baby!!!! Love my AR's. Son and I just finished an AR10 build. Stainless 20 inch barrel, full length handguard. Just waiting to mount the 4x12 Vortex Razor scope for some longer than average plinking. Plus I can keep the zombies at bay at 800+ yards.

5.56 is loaded to a higher pressure. Also the throat is a little longer which is supposed to increase velocity and help with functionality in case of carbon buildup. The issue with running 5.56 in a rifle chambered for .223 is pressure build up can exceed the normal .223's 55,000 psi operating pressure. .223 in 5.56, yes. 5.56 in .223, not recommended.

.223 vs 5.56 NATO is complicated.
The NATO round was developed from the civilian .223.
It's mil spec and rated for higher pressure, but the method used to measure pressure is different.
Chamber dimensions are very slightly different.

The short version is, you're perfectly fine shooting either out of a 5.56 NATO chamber.
You're not supposed to shoot the NATO round from a .223 gun.
Though these days, finding an AR-15 chambered specifically for .223 is difficult if not impossible.

Yeah, I can't compete with @Hobbs for avatar swapping.
And that was such a typical @SweetT comment.

Unfortunately, Mrs Gritto isn't a good enough cook to pull that off.
As for me, I'm just impossible as a cook.

I quit duck hunting for a similar reason, because, yeah...wild duck tastes like liver unless you're a very good cook.
Canada goose tastes like mud...when I try to cook it.
But one time a buddy's Mom baked one and it was better than roast beef.
    Go figure.
