I'd rather hear commercials about toilet paper or iphones at the pump but nowadays they are political so...

The E0 gas station (E0 for lyfe!) near me has TV's but they play little "did you know" factoids about old cars - but they've never been updated. I've heard about how If you were a nerd in the 50's, you probably drove a Rambler Nash. Not even Lois Lane could make it cool. Oh and did you know, the most popular car ever built, it had an explosive reputation, (dadumpump) but that still didn't keep people from buying the Ford Pinto. Two+ years now - the same two cars.

I haven't been to a gas station with those ads in a while seeing as I forgot they was a thing. I recall seeing some sort of interview once, I guess it was just an ad, but it's like who cares about that when they are pumping gas.

I can't remember where I was traveling for work, but I nearly attempted to be free until a nice bystander, that could tell what I was going to do, and saved me the embarrassment.

Pulled into a full service station when vacationing in Bonaire a number of years ago. I saw the full service sign, so at least I wasnt going to be embarrassed by trying to get out and pump my own. Nope. I was refused service because my vehicle was facing the wrong way. I was confused, said, no, the gas door is next to the pump. Thats when it was explained to me loudly and with full intent on humiliating the tourist, that the entire gas station has a one-way traffic pattern, and it doesnt matter which side the fuel door is on, I was going the wrong way. o_O :anonymous:
