    Morning everyone!

    So long story short, when I installed my 5100s, the snap ring got bent downward a little. I flipped it around assuming that the spring perch would just hold it in place. Yesterday I was looking for a clunking noise in the area, and noticed my spring perch is slightly crooked on the strut.

    What are the chances the spring perch just slides down the strut and I have nothing holding up the front driver side of my truck? If it fails, will it ride on the bumpstop to limp to the side of the road or will my wheel jam itself into the top of the wheel well and fuck everything catastrophically?

    I have a new one on the way. And honestly my mind might just be playing tricks on me and everything is fine, who knows

    That could pose a problem if you bottom out on that skid plate.
    There should be a gap between the two.

    @Skierrichy here's the best I can do while wearing dress clothes and not taking my wheel off. I think the last picture best shows it crooked. I originally installed the perch upside down, bending the snap ring a little. I had hoped the tight hold of the perch would keep it in place

    The black stuff is not paint, it's graphite lube from trying to figure out a squeak a while back

    You are going to want to replace though, there's no guarantee the rest of the ring will not start to bend, especially off-road.

    Only clunks when off-road and on bigger bumps, never heard it on the street or even over speedbumps. I also get a clunk when reversing at close to full lock

    I have one on the way, just wasn't sure if it was a "It will be fine" "Be nice to it until it arrives" or "Do not drive at all"
