    Well hold on there.

Depending on the preload/height you wish to gain, you may or may not require upper control arms.

This means that the use of UCAs isn't directed towards any specific shock manufacturer.

The Fox I purchased were standard travel.

The King I purchased are extended travel.

Just to utilize a little more articulation, as well as achieving the needed alignment, is what opted me to purchase my aftermarket UCAs.

Alcans were just shy of $800. I don't remember what they cost to ship but I'm guessing it was at least a hundred bucks via UPS, probably more

    They aren't cheap lol

I understand the UCAs are for better alignment adjustments... I didn't know they also allowed for a smidge more articulation as well, hhmmmm.

I want 2" max up front which is why I'm leaning towards the standard travel versions

that is straight out of the anarchists playbook

My wife gets really irritated if the toilet paper is put on "the wrong way" lol. I don't personally care if it's closer to the wall or away from it, but if I put it closer to the wall it's like she knows and will instantly come in and fix it.

The travel isn't just for possibility of more lift. It lets the wheel droop further. Mor downtravel is more comfort going over bumps or whoops, it's more traction capability too, less chance of lifting a wheel

Gotcha, that makes sense.. I've only ever wheeled in stock vehicles so this aspect is all new territory for me.

So can extended travel coilovers be set up for only 2" of lift and still run the stock UCA?

Absolutely. They're just as adjustable as the standard ones. You can set them up down to the decimal on height if you so desired. Get that 1.78256" of lift lol

Extended and standard travel cost the same.

It's just the added expense of UCAs.

But speedytech just told me you can set up the extended travel at only 2" of lift and not need to run aftermarket UCAs.

I thought the UCAs were really only required when you lift past the 2.5" mark so that you can keep your alignment in check

You still should have a set of uppers because all the stress of extending beyond stock travel binds in the upper joint. But it's fine in most cases. I would just get the SPC upper joints and call it a day.

The patent for toilet paper show the correct orientation of the roll and therefore, everything else is incorrect.
