Favorite Whiskey?

In about an hour there’s bound to be a beer or two cracked here at the office lol. So probably about 20 hours of sobriety...

 

Today’s find

 

Got this 12-year from the Jameson distillery when my fiance (then girlfriend) and I went to Ireland in 2018. We plan on opening it on our wedding day.

 

I think ya'll have already been drinking enough to forget that today is October 2nd and October 1st was the full 24 hours long.

I belong to a group called Whiskey Tribe, they have a dry week once a month.

 

Was told to bring whiskey in for today's "Office Cleanup"...
Brought Eagle Rare store pick, Michter's Barrel Strength Rye, Weller SR, Sazarac Rye, Bookers Country Ham, John J Bowman SiB, Blantons, and Old Forester.
Sober October is going great, but not very sober.

 

Damn, I need to get a job there.

What is your opinion of Blanton's?

 

I got a bottle of Blanton's in Oregon for $60, I thought was good at that price. Not willing to pay $100-$200 for it though.

 

For $60, I'll buy it. I usually keep one opened and a backup bottle ready.
Within the last few months or so, there was some chatter in here about John J Bowman Single Barrel. As I understand it, it's the same juice as Blanton's, but finishes distilling in Virginia.
If you like your Blanton's, this is really good too. Very similar on the nose but a little more high proof kick on the back end.
I actually have an easier time finding Blanton's near me, but I know some areas (especially East Coast) have plenty.

 

I am 20 miles from Oregon boarder. $60 there. $110-$150 here in California.

 

That E.H. Taylor is a damn fine whiskey.
