Well boys, It hasn’t been fun.
Almost 1 hour in so far and I’ve managed to get 12 Lug Nuts resized.
21mm socket and beat it on a little at a time.
If you beat the socket on all at once it, the lugs get super stuck.
And it dents the head of the nut up pretty bad if you have to beat it out.

Tip: Use a 1/2” socket in case the nut get stuck.
Then use a 3/8” extension to beat it out. (It still dents the head of the nut)

From a purely professional aspect, I would like to see a pic of your swollen dented nuts.

The issue is a stainless steel cap pressed onto / covering a steel nut, Water seems in and corrodes the steel - causing it to swell over time. It's been discussed many times here in the past.

Yeah, I was aware of the problem.
Some of it is due to me being lazy on tire rotations.
Up until then they were rotated 3+ times a year.
I haven’t rotated mine in over 14k miles (1.5 years or so)
After I got 70k on the tires, I slacked off. Figure I’ll run them until replacement.

What did you mean by the nuts resized? Like stripping the head?
I've never encountered this issue, but is it made worse with the salt on the roads up there or just moisture getting in?

So beat the nut slowly, not all at once. Got it.

No, as in the nut is actually a 21mm.
But after many years they tend to swell up. A 22mm is to loose, and 21mm to tight. You can pound the socket on all at once. But the lug nut gets stuck really tight in the socket. When you beat the lug nut out of the socket, it dents the head in pretty good.

Not dented. But will be, I don’t care now.

Ohh I get it. I had no idea...
I take it there are no SAE sizes that would be an in-between?

As a preventative measure I spray fluid film inside the nuts every year when I fluid film the truck before winter

You're still not getting inbetween the outer chrome cap and the lug. Spraying anything like that on the threads of any fastener changes the torque rating.

I do the same thing with a shot of WD-40. That'll keep your nuts from swelling.

13/16 is very close to 21mm. I had to use a 7/8 deep socket to get mine off...
