Military vehicles are nicely built, just not if you want to have suspension travel unfortunately :(

The SOF guys have some nice buggies they use to chase technicals around in the desert. Allegedly, the top speed is designed specifically to out run a hilux.

That's my truck. Back when it was still surcharged. Still holding up so far.

How did you do the attachment from the tube to the firewall? There's a couple NE guys who need this, and that's the failure point I'm most worried about.

It's bolted to the side of the front supports. Dirt designs put in rivnuts. I'll try to find a picture.

So this was setup to have all the OEM fender-wells in. Since I cut then out I'll need to brace it up more.

    Thanks for this.

i like what this guy did. My top core support isnt cracking as bad.. but im finding more stress cracks. Specifically PS where the air intake gods into the fenderwell. My DS has been torn for a while.

I like that guys fenders off option for wheeling. Gets me when people say "fIbEr glAsS iS GoNna gEt BeAt uP" etc - going with any kind of core support bracing I'd make mounts so you only have to take off 4ish bolts and throw them in the rear for tight trails - heck even for regular steel fenders like he did would be good.

On the trail I’m ok with an ugly truck but I don’t want to drive one to work.

I'm with you on this one! I like the lines and stuff screw the beat shitbox look even though mine is getting a little worse for wear. But that's beside the point plus here on the east coast I don't see the point of glass I like the tires outside/wheel track wider than the body look and my state has no dumb traffic laws about that kind of thing so run it!

You guys didn't pay attention to the video - he said he removes them when he gets to his base camp or if he knows he's going to a place that will mess up his fenders. Lots of desert guys make quick release mounts where you remove a few pins and the body work comes right off. If someone knows about going to a place where there's probable cause to believe fenders will get smashed that's what I'm referencing.

No worries - I'm guessing you wouldn't fall into the category of guys that say 1 inch of body panel width per side is going to strand them in the middle of the wilderness at an impass.
