Can anyone explain why I am getting this, but on the 3rd try VFTuner opens? The error persists, but I close it. @OVTune ?

The first step of troubleshooting is always "Did you turn it off and back on?"
    Try restarting your computer.

Ive seen it pop up a couple times. I think usually its cuz vF is trying to launch but hasn’t opened yet.

I just launch vF and come back in like 5

I also check task manager to make sure its in there and actually launching.

I've seen that before... sorry though, don't remember what I did to get rid of it. Maybe you tried to open vF Tuner more than once? It only takes 5 Minutes to open o_O You might check Task Manager to see if if shows multiple "vF Tuner" Apps.

Edit: Man am I old and slow anymore

If you’re on Win10, apparently VF takes a really long time to finally come to fore. If you relaunch before the first instantiation completes, something like this will happen.

Interestingly, the few times I’ve launched VF on my bootcamp 10+ yo MacBook Pro, I don’t recall it taking very much time.

I just tweaked all the alternator values for the file that was put up on here for grabs. The +04B04+2D+Perf+2.5 tune. I think it was @ihatemytruck,

but I am not sure how to confirm it is for 33" tires and 4.88's. Where would I find that?

I also found this and reported this via ZenDesk yesterday. I was able to reproduce it by attempting to save a file I had exported in that session with vF. Steps:
Open vF and a vft file
    Export with new name
    Make changes
Save -> Error. Also, error if trying to export to the same new name.

Close and reopen vF -> the file is unlocked.

There is a section they are both under.....but I can't recall the name at the moment. Maybe drive train controls or something similar. The gear ratios can be entered and the tire size.

??? Front and Rear Diff and Tire Size (remember to enter radius not diameter). And as noted it takes a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOg time to load. Also use Export and not save - that way you can name and place in a different folder to keep from over-writing files.

Make sure your alternator decreases the voltage as engine temps rise so you don't mess up the battery. See my previous posts a few pages back.

I normally got 19mpg city and like 21 highway with 2.0.
After messing with these tunes, this last weekend I got 23 coming back from a little elevation, but was averaging probably 80mph on that drive.
I put a less aggressive version in today and got 24.8 and 25mpg on a 30 mile drives with moderate traffic on highways.
Because I live in the city and don't do any towing or anything, I think I'm going to keep a peppy tune (nice to get up and go off lights or onto highway ramps), but make my ECT more of an eco tune with less aggressive shift points for use when I'm in traffic or if the old lady is in the truck with me.
I'll report out when I get it configured to my liking!

I’ve considered making ECT an ECo Tune too. In fact if thats the way toyota did it I probably would have never ended up here. It was just too hard to press that button at startup everytime lol.
