    I've heard about this with SG. I was pretty close to buying one. The neck problem wasn't going to keep me from buying one, but does suck to pay that much for a guitar and have to deal with that.

    Ended up getting a PRS Custom 24 SE. Just love how they feel in my hands. That neck and fret boards are great.

    Still plan to get a Gibson SG some day. They didn't have any in the shops I check, but had some Les Pauls.

    Speaking of PRS anyone here try a Silver Sky yet?

    I was hoping to find one in the wild and try it out but Covid closing all these stores and guitar drought I’m sure I’ll never just be able to play one lol

    Yep.

    Ive heard it feels like a PRS and a vintage strat. But Mayer was saying he wanted each one to capture that feeling and vibe of a GOOD vintage strat. So I’m interested to know if he nailed it.

    Ya, the shop offered to pay to fix, or replace with equal value guitar. I grabbed a 1986 '59 Reissue Strat in seafoam green in tweed case. Great guitar with an outstanding neck. Since sold that one...

    If anybody else is a John Mayer nerd or would find this interesting. 3 of the guys from the Mayer forum do a full podcast going over his Blk1 guitar and how it’s changed over the years, as well as some of the mystique about it.
