Gibson cat back and Amsoil EA air filter. Others coming as I decide what I want to do.
Long story short, I just got my first Taco (2005 V6 PreRunner TRD off road), I bout it off of my uncle's estate who passed away about 8 months ago. I know he liked to run RotellaT 15w40 in everything he owned and assume that he was running that in the Taco. I know Toyota recommends 5w30. So my question is, should I keep running the 15w40 or switch over to 5w30? Is the a benefit one way or the other? I live in the Texas pan handle so we have "mild" winters usually does not get much colder than the teens and much hotter than 105 in the summer.

I used the run the 15w40 in my motorcycle and loved the stuff and never had a problem with it.......

    SO what says the hive?

    Thanks guys! :)

It's all in my head at the moment...
15w40 is primarily used in heavy diesel applications. I'm sure it can be used in gas motors but I'd shy away from it for the Tacoma.
