I ordered it back in October. And not at all! I paid MSRP for it, which for a TRD OR with basically no extras, is about $40k

Show off ;-) I had that in my cart so many times but just couldn't justify the cost for it versus spending money on more important things like black out handles, replacement dome light, replacement map lights.... oh wait....

 

Really need to have the full trim blackout come back in stock as pretty obnoxious with the red now

 

so I negotiated $5,000 off on a 2020 black or loaded 6MT and then another dealer honored this on a 2021 green or 6MT that isn’t quite loaded, without advanced tech. I think it is highly dependent on where you are located. I haven’t decided if I’ll take it or not when it comes in.

 

Only a couple dealers within a 200 mile radius from me had listed the AG even though they didn’t have them in yet. That caused a lot of people to call those two dealers so they realized how much interest there was on the AG and therefore no discount. I was told by both dealers full msrp or they wouldn’t hold the truck for me.

And they are loaded double cab long beds.

I had to go across the country to get it, but I scored a 2021 AG OR 6MT!
(and immediately threw some real tires on it)
maybe 2k under msrp when all was said and done.

the under msrp was a happy by product.
if anyone is looking for one maybe call elmhurst toyota and tell them what you want and see what kind of deal they give you?
I'm still under msrp including the new tires and cost to fly in/drive home lol.
and also including Giordano's pizza which is the best, fight me.

what happened i think for me was..
I sent a email to Toyota corporate. I also put a post on Toyotas Facebook page.I called every toyota telephone number i could find. I felt like a bit of an ass.
I was having a hard time finding one without waiting forever. I knew some dealer had one, I was flexible on options.
I was annoyed I couldn't just search all U.S. Toyota inventory. I was more annoyed that even the dealer couldn't.
But I was mostly pleasant about it and just wouldn't take "it's impossible sir" for an answer. somebody at some point took pity on me and i got emailed an offer for almost the exact truck i wanted and a number to call.
I jumped that quickety lick.

basically i waited a couple months for one, and got itchy when they told me 3 more months. then took matters into my own hands and had one a week later.

I pretty much screamed "take my money" at everyone and somehow got a better deal than if I shopped for just the best deal. I wish that was how stuff always worked.

Wow. That’s honestly pretty impressive, lol! I don’t think I’ve ever really heard of a dealership taking anything below MSRP on a vehicle that has barely even made it off the first transports... kudos to you man! And congrats on the sweet ass ride!
I’m honestly still torn on whether I would’ve rather had a 6MT or not, but in the end, I just couldn’t give up all the features I’d be losing by going MT instead of AT. No crawl control (least concern), no keyless entry, no push button start and I think there were a couple others, but I really wanted the keyless entry though, haha

 

Agreed , I’ve always owned manual but I’m ready for something easy to just get in and drive with all the creature comforts. (Coming from a Vw westfalia) and two 3 month 6,000 mile trips to Baja.
