Which 2.0 tunes are available, depends on your ECU.

SUPER STOKED to announce this guys! This was my last quality of life mod I wanted to figure out, aside from the big power of course..

I figured out that one of the TC unlock/lock maps we are able to tweak does in fact change the partial TC locking and unlocking!!! Whats that mean? For any of the AT folks out there that have the dreaded double-upshift-then-downshift-again feel when the trucks shifts from 2-3 around 18-23 MPH this is for you! This was probably the most annoying gear hunt feel I had whenever I was slowly/moderately accelerating around town. What it was doing was partially locking and then full unlocking again. The log would show a full unlock the entire time because it technically did not lock. I haven't dialed what map it is but if you modify the following maps by setting all the cells to the HIGHEST number in each table you will get rid of this madness.
    :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear 5
Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear 6
Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear S1
Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear S2
Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear S3

Torque Converter Unlocking 3rd Gear 5
Torque Converter Unlocking 3rd Gear 6
Torque Converter Unlocking 3rd Gear S1
Torque Converter Unlocking 3rd Gear S2
Torque Converter Unlocking 3rd Gear S3

I'm going to keep diving in to this to find out exactly which table it is, but for now it works and I know its one these!:bananadance:

Think how fast this would go if we got some good webinars by the Obiwan-of-Tune.

I've noticed that the Control Airflow and Expected Airflow maps have quite a few "humps" and parts that I can tell could use some smoothing. Anybody smooth the whole maps and see any good outcomes? So far I've only done the 800-2000rpm ranges as stated in the post about it. I remember seeing a post about something who smoothed out the whole map for all 4 tables and said they were going to test but I don't remember seeing any feedback.

If you have 04B04 (sorry cant confirm other ECUs) make all of the tables I listed above look just like this and your issue should be gone. I drove around the area for 40 minutes forcing it to try and replicate the issue and not once did it even hiccup and do the double upshifting. Give it a shot!

So i bumped upshift by ~10% for 4 to 5 (1st 3 cells) and 5 to 6 (1sr 2 cells) and took off on the hiking trip through Cascades.
Truck would not shift up in the mountains , even the load and the speed were calling for upshift. Letting the pedal go was the only way to upshift.
Dead pedal in 5th. The change to airload control and expected tables did not help. Consistently reaching 45 to 50% of the accelerator , by the throttle would not go above 30 degree,
On the straight roads and downhills the were no issues.
Oh and mpgs could be better (WA20 across Washington Pass)

I’ll give this a shot tomorrow on my ‘18 04A61. I’ve been dealing with that issue for a while now so I’ve just grown to live with it. Looking forward to see if this helps in my case also!

Is this the only table to change? Not all of them like on your previous post? Never mind just read your post again!

Not sure what all the issues are here but if you were hoping for it to upshift sooner you made the opposite happen by increasing the cell values. You should decreased them. I also would not touch the first cell because that is the absolute minimum speed the truck will upshift at, you dont want to decrease that. And if you increased that first cell you basically increased the absolute minimum speed your truck will upshift at. Keeping that cell at stock would be my recommendation.

I found the table that actually affects it. I was hoping there were separate maps for ECT and D but unfortunately not. Anyway the map that you should be able to tune and leave the others alone is Torque Converter Locking 3rd Gear S2.

Since the the map to change is 3rd gear S2 does it still correct the issue in D or just S2?

S2 is just the map name its not referencing the sport mode. Might be whatever Toyota called it and Matt kept that name. Maybe S means slip? This will work for driving in all 2WD modes including D that I know of so far.

Yeah the map name makes it a little confusing but if it works then oh well.
