More parts, I should have 3 rifles up and running for deer season, the 2.5-10 will probably go on the Mohawk 600 .243 and the 3-9 that I'm pulling off of the 6.8 will go on the 30-30, and the 4-16 Vortex from my 10/22 will go on the 6.8 upper.

Yeah all a chrono does is take the guess work out of getting a zero at distance. Take your velocity and plug into a ballistics computer and you should be on target right away.

If you have a decent one you can get your standard deviation on rounds, can use it to take put some of that extra slack at distance and match it with a truing bar and see what you should be hitting at distance

I just use a cheapo :notsure:. Works fine with getting me in the black at 600 yards. Especially since I shoot mostly iron sighted surplus rifles.

I wasn't going to say anything.... but shooting it on purpose is just plain hot headed ignorance.

Yep. Work up an accurate load with a small SD. Plug in the AV in a ballistics program (or old school read the tables in a loading manual). Done. Use a sharpie to write the elevation changes on the stock. Just kidding on the last part.

Yep, this was old stock, Amazon shipped it today. Reviews say that it has better glass than the vortex offering at this price point and the Athlon scopes seem to have decent glass but spotty build quality when it comes to the magnification ring becoming loose/tight in some areas.

No, place an order, shows up on your front door a few days later. Best part is that the rifles and revolvers don't even have to be registered. You can order as many as you want and have them at your house overnight if you want too. Black powder is just good time fun shooting.
