It’s been very hot here the past few days and I lost motivation to lift in my sweatshop I call the garage. I’ll try to get back on track but... the air quality is poor and it’s hot af.

Temps spiked up here too. I lifted in my sauna on Wednesday and it was brutal. I have a fan up top at the back of my garage so I tru and turn it on before I start working out to try and help blow some of the hot air out

back to bench pressing for the first time in over a decade...gave it up for DBs when my shoulders had had enough....so far so good. Light weights, but smooth reps and I haven't decapitated myself yet. doing Tabata 3x a week now too and fml it sucks. lol

When motivation is off or I don’t feel like it, I tend to do something for which I have no baseline. So instead of trying for a lack lustre set of 10 reps on squat, not feeling it and then having to deal mentally with underperforming, I’ll pick something like one set of 50...

I still get a decent workout and get to challenge myself without having to think “this felt lighter yesterday” or whatever other negative demotivating thoughts come in when you are dragging ass in the gym. Sometimes I even end up surprising myself.

    Listen to yo body.

After 30 miles of trails this weekend I looked at the squat wrack and legs said “NO”

    So I did something else.

Listen to your body for sure but make sure it hasn’t tricked your mind into being a pussy.

So, my gym opens up this Monday but, I’m not too sure about going back just yet. I miss being able to go lift there so badly but, I really don’t want to expose myself or family to covid. :annoyed:

I have 34 planned this weekend (14/20). Then 36 the next weekend (16/22).

Then I haven't decided if I'll kill myself after that point or not. If not probably taper for my 50k.

Honestly, it's really not that bad. Shittiest part is I'm losing a toenail and it hurts like a mother till it falls off. That's really my largest complaint.

I've decided Cam Hanes is definitely running fucking gear though.
