Yea, full droop, sharp angle, looks like the Billy’s are in the first setting.

 

I brought a flange to be welded at an exhaust shop and have pipe bent.. this is what I got back. Will do my best to get my money back or I’ll blast these idiots on social media I don’t even weld regularly and could do a better job.

It’s a good point; I should have and I didn’t. I don’t have any welding supplies or a place to do it. But if I did I would have.

I typed that because yes. I could have did a better job but circumstances are not right for me to have an area to weld things. But if I go to a shop and pay for a service It should vastly exceed my skill level ya know ? It’s whatever the welds are ugly and the o2 bung is high. Hopefully I get my money back

Porous flux core welds. Gross. Looks like Ray Charles did it with his feet.

 

the sad thing is those welds are still better than alot of the welds ive seen hold frames together.. EEK.



i personally am still very proud my my exhaust welds on the flange when i put the headers on

 

If the lady gives me my money back I’ll run and get another one. If not I’m going to grind that down and then soak for a bit in Acid to clean it up.

Learning to walk the cup with TIG? Looks pretty dang good for a thick to thin stainless joint.

I finally got my hands on a TIG machine but haven't had any time to sit down and train. But I'm getting better at MIG like TIG with my normal wire feed Lincoln, been welding frame bits a lot





I have a whole bunch of rear taco suspension to weld together now. But with all this side work, I've gotten none of it prepped :/

 

it was a fun one to do.. i think that was 5-6 years ago now? shit i dont remember. I learned welding with a oxy torch, then stick, then TIG. never owned a MIG so my experience is limited... now with more room i plan on actually buying a new welder to retire the overworked miller pocket tig
pops does it for a living so he expects decent work from me! lol

 

I really wish I had more time to dedicate to learning TIG, most of the side work I get just doesn't call for it. But a lot of my personal work right now does :/ Conflicting. I need to weld up a turbo manifold for the tacoma, and while I could do it with stainless wire in my mig, it would look a lot better and be easier to control heat ( to avoid manifold cracking later on) with TIG.

 

i've found tig to satisfy all my needs. I dont do a whole lot of welding. but when i do tigs fine



now if i get a body for this other frame... there will be alot of welding going on in the future..

 

It hurts my soul that I tried to support local, and this happens more than anything. It was much more a principle of trying to help a business that has Hawaii roots too. But you know what

I’m going to drive down there and ask for my money back.

I ordered the part from walker instead of trying to salvage what I had. 34 bucks mind you.

worst case scenario I’ll take them to small claims court on principle. I’ll waste a 1000 years to be petty.
