Sweet - I just see SO MANY of those ludicrously "tuned" trucks, that looks soooooooooo terrible around... subtlety is the key in my opinion...

Anyone know if Toyota still sells the TRD skid plate with out the red letting? I remember seeing to different part#s for the skid one with the red lettering and one with out the red lettering.

I don’t believe so but they are just stuck on, you could remove them if desired

Bought a new house with well water. I was out pulling stumps with the truck and decided that I was done for the day. I started driving
through the front yard, back towards the garage, when... WHAM!!!! I had forgotten about the well-pump pipe sticking out of the ground.

The TRD skid plate took the majority of the damage. Unfortunately, I had painted it black and now the aluminum is shining through again.
Fortunately, the well-pipe wasn't damaged too much.

So yeah, it does its job, and I can still change the oil without any issues. I like it.

As a C5 owner with a BMI is 0.1 under obese I resemble your remark!

I like my TRD skid, but I've taken to pulling it off for oil changes, which is a PITA but it beats someone ugga uggaing it into the frame because they didn't want to take the time to read a torque spec.

The embossed plate is out of production. When I ordered it, I got the one with the red letters. The red letters are stuck on, but there's also tabs on the letters, and the tabs are held in by holes. I got around this by using Tuffskinz Turbo Silver inserts. It mutes it way down, not to the pre-insert embossing, but much better than the bright red.

Excuse the scratch on the plate, I haven't had a chance to get that out.

I also put toyo R/T 265/70/17” tires looks so much better sold the Originals & cut the cost in half so happy with the decision next will be the Grill to oem trd pro one no aftermarket I like the look of oem upgrades trd skid plate after the grill

Those are matte TRDs - VERY nice!!! I initially wanted to get the exact combination BUT, I was told, they are back ordered until MAY '21. The local Toyota Dealer has 36 pairs on backorder!! crazy!!! They also offered VERY good price if I am willing to wait and leave refundable deposit - $1800 mounted, balanced, aligned, programmed TPMS, filled with Nitrogen, and put on the car - REALLY good deal BUT - no way I am waiting that long :)

    settle down squirt.

People have been doing this long before 3rd gens. 2nd Gen owners are just as guilty.

    Any truck platform is.

let people mod their vehicles to their own liking.

Excuse my ignorance but doesn't the TRD skid plate have an access panel so you don't have to remove it?

Yes, but I've heard conflicting stories about how much access there is for a hand. I figured to be a decent human and to prevent the tech from zipping the plate back on and breaking the frame nuts I'd simply drop it. The last change I had it was full of oil, so that saves that headache for me.

There is no way I would remove mine to change the oil, the access panel gives enough room for removing the filter canister.

Oh man, I don’t like 20s on Tacomas. But a truck is a canvas and we all paint different.
