Nice job on the cross bar. I’m using the same Yakima rack for two bikes on my Voodoo Bed Rack with Rhino Rack cross bars.

I use it more to carry road bikes, actually have a cap coming because they will fit under a cab height cap.. but anyway, welded it up from a few peices of 2x2 angle and 2in channel, bolted the quick release and thru axle mounts on.. works well for my needs and keeps the bikes tucked behind the cab to protect from flying road debris

Nice setup, so am I to understand you mounted your voodoo rack on top of cross bars? Is that to get it above the toneau? And off topic have to ask about the Road Shower, that sounds rad!

Image one is how I carry ours 90% of the time. The bed extender isn't necessary. Just two straps, one on each handlebar. I also have the factory tonneau cover, but don't generally run it.

The second image is what I run when I have my rooftop tent. It's a 1Up rack system. It's expensive, but arguably the best hitch carrier.

I also have the KB Voodoo Hi Rise crossbars and they work great with my RTT and tonneau cover. Plus, if you want, you can mount the RTT and bike on it.

I recently got a gravel bike but the rack I got (Rockymounts Switchhitter) will carry either thru axle or quick release skewer forks so I can carry my gravel or mountain bike at will. I go roof rack because I carry my 17ft sea kayak also.

So my cross bars are on the top of the Voodoo Rack. The Voodoo Rack has a special mount to allow you have a retractable tonneau cover mounted to the truck. The setup works great because I wanted to be able to lock up the truck bed. And yes we love the Road Show. We live in Arizona so it heats up everyday. We mainly use it to wash the bikes off after a ride. I hope this helps.

The most elegant solution is the front bed rack bar with a simple front fork clamp mount on it. But I got tired of taking the wheel off. I went with the Ride88 and love it. One stop shopping. And if you need the full bed it takes 90 seconds to completely remove.

This was my solution in my 2010. A couple bolts and washers into the front rail, attached to an old Yakima fork mount I salvaged off my 03 Camry. Fit 2 bikes easily and could get the tailgate closed (in a long bed).

Yeah, I did a tailgate pad for about 15 years and finally bought a 1up rack because my kids’ and wife’s bikes started to consume the whole bed. I love the 1up. It takes about a minute to load all four bikes.

I always had to use a ratchet strap across the handlebars with my 2016+ Tacoma and Dakine pad. Otherwise they wobble around and knock into each other, which was less of an issue with my older truck that had a slimmer tailgate and shallower bed.

Lots of great ideas in this thread! Consider them all, try what you think you'll like (and maybe you'll change it up). For me right now, I'm loving my 1UP rack on my voodoo bars. 1UP is a solid rack, worth the $$$. Love it since it works with my road bike as well, and don't need to remove tires on either bike. Securing/locking works well/the same for both bikes, too.
