Just curious, why would you want to use a tune that is intended for forced induction?

oh, I'm not. I flashed it for a buddy who just had his SC installed, but also wanted the 2.0 SuperFOB which I wasn't able to do since I don't have 04B14 files unlocked.

You can get 2.0 SuperFob by downloading it on flash manager. It’s not editable, but you can get it and flash his truck.

That’s the dilemma. The forced induction tune overwrites the SFOB and vice versa. He’ll just have to wait until Magnusson releases variants of their tune. Hopefully.

    LoL!

Nothing firm that I have heard yet. Thankfully, the folks that I tuned are being patient.

Tuned and flashed mine today! Also upped my 3-4 up shift and 4-5 up shift by 12% (I know, 12% is weird.) but I did 10% at first and thought it wasn’t enough and felt 15% was too much. And now it shifts from 3-4 at around 2100-2200 rpm at regular cruising throttle and the TC adjustment keeps it from shifting and lugging! Feels about perfect!

Edit: my shift points were the ones Moose posted in post #5550

I ran just the 3rd gear S2 TC locking change and it was great. Now I have altered the TC locking in every gear in an attempt to eliminate any partial lock. All values in green were made identical to the lowest numerical value in green and no values in red were altered. I'm basing this on your latest performance tune. I think with holding the gears longer, the partial lock may not be necessary and could save some wear and tear. Will test drive tomorrow and report back, i have no idea how it might go.

I changed alternator values that you recommended and hit 15.2V at the terminals on cold idle!

I couldn't wait and just test drove after TC changes across the board to eliminate partial lock. It's a pretty subtle change, but if you like a more traditional feel, you may like this. Also, the rumble strip while decelerating is pretty much gone. To be fair I don't know if that was with the 3rd gear TC change recommended by @ForceOfG or from the other changes I made. 4th gear TC lock gave me a little lock/unlock under light throttle, so I will probably just move that threshold up in throttle angle.

I’m curious if the same TC map for the 4th gear S2 would do the same as the 3rd gear map. I sometimes have lugging in 4th gear if I’m going around 40-45 but it’s not nearly as bad 3rd gear was.

I'd imagine it does. Two things you can do are either modify the S2 map or you can modify the locking #2 map which controls the full locking and might be more of the lugging you are feeling. 4th gear can lock as low as 30MPH. Try raising the 4 cells in that table by 10 or so. That roughly translates to locking at 9MPH higher.

Edit: If you want it to behave the same with ECT on make sure you change the #3 map also!

I'm just thankful I havent blown anything yet! And its running so much better! Who woulda thought the fix for that 3rd gear lugging was so simple...

Of course none of this would be possible without the main man @OVTune

Is this the table you're referencing which would raise the locking MPH instead taking the lock out completely? 4th2.jpg

Yup thats the table for 4th gear full locking (and table 3 is used when you're in ECT). Now that I think about it, if your lugging around 40-45 thats probably 5th gear TC. Same map numbers would apply though. Locking 5th gear 2 and S2.

Yeah it could be 5th. I'll just raise 4th and 5th gears 2 tables by 10% and see how that helps.
