Received mine today in the mail although Sally has made it to my location so no install today..

Also trying to figure out which type of install I want to do

I'm thinking I'm going to tap into the cig lighter area without taking dash all the way out..

    Input? Appreciated for install

Thanks @ThreatLevelMidnight Looks great just as advertised

Damn that was quick! The cigarette lighter might be your quickest route for install although, has anybody tapped into the harness in the center console?

Do this ^^ - MUCH easier/quicker than disassembling the dash.

    Never enough
Using a fuse tap is also insanely fast and easy. No disassembly required. Mulitple fuses to left of dash to choose from.

I would think even easier that tapping into anything. No splicing involved.
I’m going this route, cheers Dylan

Enjoyed talking trucks, boost, gauges, stereos, catch cans, and (of course) wireless chargers with @Camby this afternoon. Appreciate the length of Black U Channel Edge Trim Rubber Seal, with which I look forward to "finishing" my charger.

Likewise! Always enjoy meeting a fellow TacomaWorld member. Sad thing is, I probably could have gone another hour talking shop.
If you need any additional tips or guidance for the trim, feel free to ask.

Just want to give a quick update for upcoming orders, I'm currently waiting on more charging units to arrive. Right now the ETA is 1-2 Weeks.

I've fulfilled all the people in the group before you that got back to me. So yours is up next! I'm going to be still printing bezels like normal so once those chargers come in I'll be able to ship a bunch at once!

Looks great! Really like the switch.

Is it possible to get the link of where you purchased the switch?

Install complete. Not gonna bore you with pics, it looks exactly like all the others already posted. I will, however, leave some notes.

    1. I tapped the 12v socket, but used the right-hand one as I plan on using the left-hand position for future trailer brakes controller (redarc). The harness was long enough to pull through the hole with enough slack to tap the wires and put everything back together easily.

    2. I cut off the connectors that came pre-installed on the harness (fuse end) and used posi-taps instead.

    3. The acrylic tube was kind of a plain to work with. Not sure how far you're supposed to get that inserted into the cradle hole, so i left it just resting inside. Didn't want to chance breaking it. I can still see the light when it's turned on.

    4. I ended up taking the front portion of the center console out. Its simple to do and gave more room for fishing the harness through, it easily came down from the socket. Also, this allowed me to drill the cubby hole exactly where i wanted, lower left corner.

    5. Everything works like it should, but i have to position my phone (Samsung S7 with slim Obliq case) just right for it to start charging.

I might go back in later to fine tune the fit, but for now it's all good. Great job OP!!

When I start driving with the phone on the charger, it begins charging the phone, but after a minute or two, the charger turns off, and then turns on again after another minute or two driving. Anyone else experiencing this?
