So I went out today to run a few errands. Went to a local store/gas station to buy a pack of cigs, the gas station is called World Gas. I noticed that there was a tanker truck that had just finished refilling the gas station and the guy that was driving the tanker truck told me "nice truck, I got the older style Tacomas myself and love it". We talked for a minute, told him to join these forums lol, blah blah then i went on my way....

So I go about running a few more errands and before I go back home, I decided to go fill up at the gas station I usually use (Chevron). I pull up to the gas station and noticed it was the same guy that I saw at the last gas station  ?!

I ended up just going straight home because I didnt want the guy to feel awkward that I just saw him refilling at the "cheapo" gas station and now hes refilling at Chevron "with Techron".....

Now it makes me wonder, is gas really all the same?!?!

Maybe he refilled the crap gas station, then he was filling up with premium chevron diesel.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think he meant he was delivering gas to both stations.

He said he only saw him at the chevron, he never specified he was filling it up. I'm just trying to throw out intresting scenarios.

But in seriousness it would make sense if they all buy the same gas. Aren't alot of as stations franchised? And isn't it cheaper for a franchised station to buy from the localest ad cheapest gas available?

Same truck, "different gas". He poured some Techron when you weren't looking.

I've seen this happen a lot. I use shell gas and I have the the same truck that fill shell stations at local cheaper stations on the same days.

The techron could be held in a seperate holding tank and mixed later

Don't fill up at stations while a delivery truck is filling the tanks, they stir up the crap on the bottom of the tank and it gets picked up by the pump and spit into your truck.

This is especially important since the Toyota engineers now believe we live in a perfect world and always get nice clean gas so don't even give us a fuel filter we can change without buying the whole damn fuel pump for several hundred dollars.

They probably just add a bottle to the underground tank after the truck leaves...lol

Probably add only a couple drops since the sign doesn't really specify how much Techron is in the gas

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
That is what they do all the gas is pretty much the same and everyone buys from everyone. Some places just put additives in there fuel the funny thing is it's not regulated and a lot of the stations put small amounts in the holding tank. i have read articles where people staked out a station and watched the station agent add the additive it was about 1q. I don't buy into the hype I buy the cheapest fuel I can find but I don't go looking for it. And i never buy Shell or Chevron way over priced for the small amount of additive they add IMO.

I thought a gasoline tanker's tank was compartmentalized. If so, he could carry at least two brands of gas in the tanker.
