You’re right, you know more than the experts who work in the medical field with these athletes

Don’t let the Chargers team doctor near you with a needle.

    Just sayin’.

    Or Covid. UGH

Already did this with the Pittsburgh/Tennessee game. I'd rather see a backup QB play Sunday instead especially since it would be interesting to see what Jarrett Stidham can do..unless there's the fear that other players on the Patriots were exposed (my theory), in which case it makes much sense to delay.

If they’re going to delay, it needs to be played on a Sunday. Games mid week cutting rest time short for teams is highly unsafe for both teams.

you are still missing the point i think. you can very well play a mid week game, and still get your beauty rest.... maybe the nfl should utilize the bye weeks for these cases, perhaps considering adding another bye week just incase... the schedule is not set in stone, things can very well be moved around. logistics are not as tough as people make them out to be...

honestly if the sport of football is so dangerous and depended on 6 days rest in between games, there prob is something that should and could be done to alleviate that risk factor, and this is for the sport long term not just this covid storm of a season the nfl is trying to weather

I just dont see why a pro athlete can only play one time each week, and that playing with anything less than 6 days rest should be deemed unsafe

I understand the nostalgia and tradition of playing on Sunday... but like sometimes life deals us a card unforeseen and we gotta think outside the box. In this case, I think the nfl very well could consider opening up a 7 days a week playing schedule

imagine, one or two nfl games each day...:cheers:

24/48/72/96 hours rest for sure yes I get it...

but 6 days/144 hours rest or risk serious injury...??? come on slightly pathetic if you ask me...

the key factor is having a protocol set forth for all teams across both conferences

All of it. Football is as you know a very high contact sport. There are numerous studies on the impact of rest, which is an extremely important aspect. These dudes are almost all playing with some sort of injury on a daily basis, so the more rest they get the better. There are plenty of other statistics that show higher injury rates on players who have a shorter rest week (Thursday night games). You’re entitled to your opinion, but you can’t argue facts. My girlfriend is a physical therapist and works with former NFL players and doctors she works with are professional teams athletes too. They will all tell you the same thing.

Sure, and then half their lineup would be out with injuries.

It would take some doing (especially since the season is underway) but they could just bump playoffs out a week or two and play any makeup games in that timeframe, I reckon
