dual stick you get a true 2lo. Other than that there is not. It’s easier to shift between hi-lo with the twin sticks in my opinion. Cons would be oil leaks due to poor quality aftermarket shifters. Sticking with a single shifter you keep the oem setup.

2nd Gen Taco got a little FJ in it. Finished it finally. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice.

yep, or you can opt for a single piece rear driveshaft, that’s what I did and is the better solution, but it’s a little more expensive

Ahh okay. Shoot I’ll figure that out. So you went from 2wd to 4wd? How is it working ? And what gear ration in the front diff? I see two options.

negative, I swapped in an FJ case. There are five options for gears 3.73. 4.10, 4.56, 4.88, and 5.29. I opted for 4.56.

I found it easier to just shorten the front section of the DS. Cost me like $100 to have a driveshaft shop shorten and rebalance it.

That’s the shifter to transfer case?? It doesn’t just go up in the coin slot? Do I have to make it all crazy like that ?

Here’s how the shifter came out. I think I still need to do a slight bend away from the transmission shifter. Barely rubs like (1/16 of an inch) the t case shift knobs when going from park to reverse. But it’s not that big of a deal for now.
