So for each gear: S2 does the half lock and #2 does full lock?

That sounds a little too high.

Yea in a nutshell.. I havent tested S2 for all of the gears yet but my guess is that's the map that controls the partial lock/unlock. If its S2 in the locking tables that means that map controls when to go from full unlock to half lock. Vice versa for the unlocking tables. S2 in unlocking tables controls when to go from full lock to half unlock. This is probably most pronounced around 45-50 MPH as you give it more gas it feels like a downshift but its really going from partial unlock 5th to full unlock 5th. Techstream will show an unlock the entire time depending on the situation.

I did test gears 4-6 and made sure that map #2 controls full locking and unlocking in D and S mode while map #3 controls them in ECT. I didn't really feel a need for testing the lower gears.

My next goal is to see if there are specific maps for 4Hi and 4Lo

    That’s what I’m thinking.

I also looked at the TC locking tables for the original 2.0 map and all the tables for for 1st and 2nd were maxed out at 255.99 also. So I guess to get it to not lock at all you just put all values to the max.

Did you raise the tables for the “2” tables for 4-6 or did you max them out to test?

I did not max them out but that could be a way to do it.. I set them all to one speed thats attainable and then used techstream to confirm. I made them a speed that is glaringly different from what the original table has. For example I set all of the Unlock 6th Gear 2 cells to 70 which is about 66 MPH. Went logging for a couple of hours and the changes were always immediate so once I saw that it could unlock even when im doing 65 on the highway I knew that was the table. FYI the stock TC table doesnt unlock if you're over 55 MPH no matter how much pedal you give it so it was pretty obvious. Then I switch to different modes like S and ECT to see if the TC still behaved the same or not.

Playing with your tune a bit I set it for catless dump tubes and 35s with 5:29 gears. Love how it drives. And no check engine light either!! So stoked. Set my start idle a bit lower because I don’t have the cats to warm up fast. Exhaust even sounds better. Keep up the good work

When you say raise by 10, do you mean 10% or raise each value 10?

I meant actually 10 not 10%. I think doing 10% across the board is going to increase some of the cells to much, but it all comes down to personal preference.

Thanks for clarifying. I began to wonder because I raised the 4th and 5th gear 2 (all the green-yellowish cells) by 10% and it really only raised the number by a few points. I felt like that didn't seem right because it would ultimately result in a few mph change.

This might be wine fueled ... Let's be honest.... This IS wine fueled... But a huge thanks to @OVTune @Mooseditty17 @ForceOfG for giving us the tools to actually fix and get these trucks driving to our own personal liking. It wouldn't be possible without the VFTuner software and the ballsy folk playing with their trucks tune and giving the rest of us the motivation and knowledge to make the changes on our trucks.

Huge kudos. Much love. My truck is finally almost perfect.

    Thanks!!!!!!!

So i went and edited 3rd gear according to your findings. Went for a some miles and it seems helped. Encountered a few these events in 4th though. Will apply same changes and see if it gets eradicated.
    Nice job!!!.

What all changes did you make? I've been messing with the tables but I just want to make sure I'm on the right track since I haven't been able to flash and test yet.

I reverted all my changes back(650 miles via mountains passes got me thinking), except 3 airload tables and edited TC Locking 3rd gear 5 to S3 and TC Unlocking 3rd gear 5 to S3.
