Do you happen to know what all the different tables for each gear are for? Like 3rd gear 2-7?

I want to do the same thing but I need to keep in mind that fourth gear is often where I am towing and I don't want to burn out my torque converter... Thoughts?

I think we need some education on all these tables.

I have been chasing this issue for a while and was looking at it from different angles -VVT, ignition, tranny shifting, TC locking
A few times a logged tranny solenoids and there is SLU solenoid that turns ON a few seconds prior the even, while TC remains unlocked. I just put mod for 4th and heading out to my pickup game and see the outcome.
I'm not sure how it will affect the entire spectrum of 4th gear.

I am also chasing my tail on torque converter tables. I'm working on 4th gear specifically because I would like it to unlock at a bit higher speed before shifting into third. Does anyone have a clear "if you do this to the table, then this will happen?" maybe @OVTune can help.

Didn't you once say techstream was not showing the half lock, it still showed unlocked? Or am I thinking of something else...

I would think by disabling the half lock and leaving a full lock the transmission would still be safe as far as temperatures increasing too much... The half locks got to be more of a miles per gallon thing, no?

Well seeking out a potential option for an eco-tune option for ECT, I have determined that my normal prime tune for driving is probably ideal -- just dependent on conditions and driving style.
That being said, in my quest to do this, I think I put together a pretty phenomenal performance option for the ECT shift points. Feels like the truck is coked out with the button on. There are increased downshift points and upshifts are high too, so it pretty much never glugs -- always ready to rev.

If you want to try it on your ECT map...
    **prerequisites
    - ACIS Activation RPM High from 3650 > 3400
    - RPM Limiter Fuel cut upped to 7000
    - RPM Limiter Fuel cut 2 upped to 7500
    - Vehicle Maximum Speed Global up to 289 kph (if true, that is 170mph)
Airload Control -- smoothed out 800-2000 rpm range for 4 axis
Throttle Airflow --Throttle Management: First gear throttle limiter and 4 high = all 100's
-- Throttle Limit Normal Gear 2 up 25% then copied over to Gear 1 and 3,
    4-6 up 25% (up to 66 angle)
Torque Converter Locking - 3rd Gear S2, change all values to 255.999 (no locking)

@Mooseditty17 @Vlady Thats correct. I could replicate it all day with the 3rd gear fix I mentioned. I believe techstream only shows whatever state it was last in whenever it goes to half lock/unlock. So if it was locked and then half unlocks it will still show a full lock.

I would increase the first 4 cells in the 'Unlocking 4th Gear 2' Table by 5 or 10 and see if that helps you. By increasing these numbers the result is going to be less pedal as speed increases will cause a TC unlock.

What I've done is started graphing all of the shifting and TC tables to make sure I dont have any overlap. Makes it easier to visualize when something is happening. I'll try to share this file if anyone wants it for their own use.

So, reading through this numerous times... And, now going cross eyed. I have a question. (I'd just go try it. But, my garage is a ways away.)
The change is to be made in...
    "Torque Converter Locking"
    "Locking 3rd gear S2"
    And...
    "Unlocking 3rd gear S2"?

It needs to essentially be locked out from doing both, correct?
Or, should I just step away from the tuning software, for a min? I've been messing with other changes, as well. And, I'm cross eyed from spreadsheets.

You only need to mess with 'Locking 3rd gear S2'.

I'm not even sure if 'Unlocking 3rd Gear S2' is even used in the stock maps because the truck would need to lock in 3rd in order to use that map. That map is for switching from full lock state to half unlock but the trucks stock map prevents it from ever even locking in 3rd....

Keep me in the loop on this please.
I'm very curious if the TC Lock 3rd gear S2 changes yield the same results if done on TC Lock 4th gear S2. I just want that momentum robbing half shift b.s. gone. Especially if I can still safely tow with such parameters.

I just changed my 4th Gear S2 table to the same values as 3rd S2 and also raised my Locking and Unlocking 4th Gear 2 tables. I'm about to flash and go drive. I will post back what I find out.

Pretty well. Subtle change but I like it. Doing this (or possibly just the 3rd gear S2 adjustment) eliminated the rumble strip upon decel. I think the shift points for the higher hears are at such a place where it will downshift before it unlocks. I haven't decided if I want to be able to hold a higher gear and unlock. My F350 does this, but that is a much more powerful engine. I had a TC lock/unlock stumble in 4th under light throttle and low rpm, so I'm going to move that threshold.

I may also revert to one of your earlier tunes to work from, the throttle is a little touchy and downshifts a little early for my taste on this one I think.

Are the low gear throttle limits removed in your 2.5 perf map?

I'm not sure if the limits were removed on the 2.5 or not. I would have to check. What tune are you currently on?
