Got a call at 12:05 last night no father wants to get. Dekalk county Coroner call me and said they found my son in his apartment nonresponsive. I know there is no way anyone can understand how it feels but I consider a lot off people on here my friends and just wanted to vent a little about the effects of drug abuse and the effects of it on everyone around it. If you have to deal with it in your life I feel sorry for you and hope you continue to love them and show them you do because one day they could be gone like my son is now. He was on top of the world and drugs pulled him down, just love the people you know, everyday.

Dang brother that's never a call a parent wants to receive. Being on the same side of the phone for more than my share of calls, it's always difficult to take in. Please reach out if I can help in any way.

We don’t know each other very well, but I’m very sorry for your loss. I can’t begin to understand what you must be going through. I do, however, have a good idea of what your son went through. I was fortunate enough to get clean 7/13/12. I put my family and myself through an almost literal hell. Countless rehabs, detoxes, hospitals, meetings etc. I was sleeping in alleys and at the Jimmie Hale mission in bham. I was bleeding to death in a hotel bathtub the day/moment I got clean. It very easily could have gone the other way, and up until that moment had every intention and desire for it to. In some ways my life did end that day, and the pain was lifted. I hope you can take some comfort in the fact your son does not have to fight anymore. I don’t pretend to know why I survived and others do not. I live my days to help others the best I can. If there’s anything I can do, please let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
