Won't know exactly what we're looking for until final rally book comes out Thursday by email. That's part of the challenge of long distance rallying. I have some suspicions because I've been doing these for a few years but nothing is guaranteed. Fairly sure one PA bonus is the Nelsonville cemetery but 2up on a FJR for several miles on an unpaved road isn't worth it for me. Should I post my Spotwalla.com link for you guys to follow along?

I think I found a link to the rallye. Not a manner but I’d be curious to see how one works! A Rallye is something I’d be interested in

I'll try to post up links for some ride reports from ADVRider.com from pst rallies. They're challenging. You'll cover a lot of miles, see lots of cool stuff, and meet some cool folks.

    I found this. http://www.masondixon20-20.org/

Also, rode 780 miles in a day, twice and 800 in a day once.

Did that one 5 times from 2013-2017. Check out rallythevoid.org too. This one next week is a blend of the 2 put on by both rally masters, Co-Void 20-20

Unless the snow is sticking or there is ice on the road, I ride. Coldest commute to date is 17 degrees, I think? And that was when I didn't have a garage either, my battery was not happy that morning (LiFePo4 doesn't like the cold..)

I did some prep for the cold weather today, my replacement grips/grip heaters got delivered. Hippo hands arrived Thursday. I got the clutch side swapped out in all of ten minutes, but the throttle side is going to be a baaaaaastard. I apparently have to strip most of the body work to remove the air box and get access to the throttle body end of the throttle cable to loose it enough to remove. Ugh, damn you BMW and your decision to mold the grips into the heaters *shakes fist at the sky*

Coldest temp I've ridden in was 7 degrees when I got to work one morning. Fortunate enough to have a garage. I have heated jacket liner and heated gloves with a dual zone wireless controller for them. With my full cold weather gear temps as low as high 20's are really not that bad for me. It's the crap on the roads that can cause me issues. Riding snow covered roads will pucker your sphincter pretty quick.

Body has always been OK, it's always my hands that have needed more protection. Bark busters weren't keeping enough wind off. I'm excited to try this Hippo Hands out. I shouldn't have any problems then, fingers crossed.

Also, have to say, I'm super impressed with all your iron butt and other runs and rallies. Some day I'll do one!

Coldest I’ve done was 26* on the grapevine back I. December. My hands were good and I went with the BMW GS dry gloves and they keep the wind off and my digits warm with the heaters.
My gloves have been pretty good. I have the BMW Rallye pants and jacket (suit) and they block the wind really well. Rain, not so much but they have the liners that work fantastically. In the cold I usually wear thermals and it helps out a lot with the wind blocking from the suit. I rode to AZ from the Bay Area and back in December with the average temp being 40* and wasn’t uncomfortable. I could feel the cold but I wasn’t cold if that makes sense.

I had hippo hands back in the early 90's I think it was. Worked good, not really sure what ever happened to them. I have a pair of Gerbing heated gloves a Warm & Safe heated jacket liner with wireless controller. Gloves were bought in late 90's over 20 years ago but still work great.

I had always wanted to get my Iron Butt Association number. Knew a few members but once I bought my FJR1300 that was it. Joined a forum for them, met some other owners for breakfast and heard stories about rallies and had to try one. Been hooked ever since. 8 hours, 10 hours, 12 hours, 31 hours. Like to try a multi day event some time. Iron Butt Rally at 11 days is a bit out of my league I think but who knows? Once I did my first Saddlesore 1k that really left the genie out of the bottle. 5 certs on my walls now for Iron Butt rides and wanting more. Girlfriend has 2 certs with her name own as a passenger.

Our most fun ride was Pressed Penny Insanity Challenge. Collected 124 pressed pennies from 124 different locations in 24 states in less than a year by motorcycle. 5 states west of Mississippi River.

Well, I either got lucky or the guy did something dumb. This is my old bike that I sold back in June.

Yeah ive done some single digits too. I worry more about other fucktards than me. Ive had cars crash in the rain right in front of me. Not worth dealing the snow/ice stuff.
