That is his #1 but I believe the Silver Sky was based more on the sunburst tortoise guard he has that I believe is a 60’s strat. That guitar is rumored to have been owned by Jimi but idk the chances of that.

The reason I say it’s more likely based on his 60’s strat is because the pickups on the Silver Sky are a 64.5 or something like that. It says it on the pickup covers. Supposed to be a blend of 64/65 pups.

edit: the pups on the SS are a “635” or 63.5

so they are 63/64 pups and his burst strat is a 64.

Very nice! I even like the color. Just makes me want to get another PRS. Was close to getting a used custom 22. Was the bolt on neck version with Dragon 1's.

This is usually my warmup when I havnt played for a bit.
Just browse backing tracks in whatever key I like and switch from lead to rhythm and back.
gets the fingers nimble and the synapses firing.

Anyone swap pickups out on a PRS custom SE? I'm about to throw in some Seymour Duncans that I snagged off Reverb.

    That's sweet.

I like to warm up with a cup of coffee and my Taylor in the morning just playing appregios. Just finally set my studio up to use electrics easily. It's crazy how different an accoustic is to play vs electric. Especially since I finger pick. So using a pick is like learning to play again, but it's awesome to have a new challenge.

Peeling calluses. Should it put the lotion on the skin or just ride it out? Need to trim the nails. Didn't realize how quickly they grow till I started playing...

I always just let my callouses peel on their own through playing unless it’s a really thick piece that I can feel when playing then I’ll pull it off and just keep playing. Never thought to put lotion cause I’d rather have dead skin on my strings/fretboard than lotion.

I like to think of all the guitarists / musicians that came before us playing gigs on gigs on gigs.. doubt they ever even cared about their fingertips unless they were bleeding. Heard of people putting super glue on raw fingertips too just to keep playing. (Extreme I know)

You're becoming a man now, just leave them and show off you're battle scars.

Ok, yeah it's crazy how fast they form right? I usually just peel mine off, mostly because they drive me nuts cause I can't fell a damn thing with my left hand.

Modified the level of gas in the tank
I posted this before...get an emory board, the ones the gurls use for their nails...file off the sharp bit of callus skin that makes you ping when you pull off. Takes seconds, doesnt foul up fret board with lotion, eliminates the pull off pings and actually builds up calluses in the process.

Just remind yourself of these lyrics from Colter Wall’s “The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie”:

“I know you, I know you young man
I know you by the state of your hands
    You’re a 6 string picker just as I am..”

    Wear em with pride
