Weathertech in stealership for service?

Hi Ya'll! I am a new taco owner. I've been hangin around here for awhile, and therefore caved to all the hype of the weathertech digi-fits. So far I'm loving them! I just had a question. I still have a little bit to go, but when I take it in for the 10k service, do I need to worry about them taking them out on me with the throttle pedal fiasco? (and yes, I did the search and couldn't find anything about the WTs)'

It's your truck. They need your approval to do anything to it. I had the accelerator recall done on mine, they did not touch it until they had my signature to authorize the work. If you think they might try and just do it without approval, then you should make it clear what you don't want done when you drop it off.

 

I know my dealership here actually sells weather techs. So I would say they should be ok. Plus they can't just take them cause you bought them. If you are worried about it though just take them out before you go...

 

wow, that was quick! lol, ok, thanks for the advice. I was just curious, I've heard horror stories of them taking other mats b/c of "liability".

 

I took mine in for the pedal recall and they didn't touch mine. They didn't even say anything. Just did the work and that was it.

It's only the older Toyota All-Weather mats that they're required by Toyota to confiscate. All others are okay. Some find their non-toyota mats in the backseat on the floor, but that's a worst case.

And it is a recall. So unless you say you don't want the recall on the pedal done, it will be done without your consent. They'll tell you afterward at a minimum but will likely say something up front.

 

I just did my 10,000 service and they didn't touch my liners.
