That’s pretty cool. My wife falls somewhere between yours and Dave’s it sounds like, at least in terms of caring about stuff.

Ok Lair peeps and #Randyfab, so I’ve made move to NM, the garage is getting organized and it’s time to start working on my truck. Also it’s time for new tires.

My BFG KO2s have taken me off-roading in NM, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, with many many highway miles in between (79k miles). Yes I know it’s too many. But they are at 40% tread depth and did great on my Colorado trip this past weekend.

But they are starting to harden up and chunking a little. Now that I live out west and have much easier access to harder and steeper trials (fuck you wisconsin and your lame offroading) I plan to wheel a lot more. I’ve got a trip to Moab lined up this month and a trip into Canyonlands NP next month. And several places to wheel an hour from here.

Question is what tires should I get? I do plan to wheel a lot on Utah this winter and more of Colorado next summer. The truck is my DD, so there’s that. But I want to focus on wheeling. I liked my KO2s and could just buy three and be done. But I’ve been thinking MTs, not for mud, but rock crawling. It’s time to start pushing my truck and my driving skills.

    Opinions?

she was the one with her head out the window the whole way down black bear pass oohing and ahhing at the views, saying “that wasn’t that bad, that was easy” and the one telling me to just buy 5 new tires if I want something new instead of replacing my KO2s.

@TaKoToy I like fishing near the point in Buxton, or even further down in Hatteras Village. Pretty cool back trails to explore, plus the fishing is usually pretty good.

I love that area! I need to check out the campground further south. I thinks it's called frisco. The one right at the point was under water last time I went down. I wish they had some primitive spots open. It would be nice to camp on the sound after the bugs are all gone. I get no camping on the beach because of turtles and bird nest I guess. Next year I'm going to skip the beach driving permit and do cape lookout.

Did the grill mod today. I’ve gotten more into grilling recently now that the weather is nice. Went with the Weber spirit II 210. $379 at Home Depot and seems like a lot of bang for the buck. Cooked dinner on it tonight and so far I’m a fan.

Cooper st maxx are a great all around tire. They’re in between an MT and AT as far as aggressiveness and they have a really beefy sidewall. Literally their only con is they’re kinda heavy, but that’s because of the sidewall. They have amazing on and off-road characteristics. I know quite a few people with them.

My wife has bought me most of the crap on my truck as gifts for Christmas or other occasions.

That is quite the upgrade over your 100 dollar special you had previously.

It really is. I wanted the 310 (an extra burner) but they only had an assembled one. I didn’t have the truck and wasn’t sure if it could fit in the kia so I opted for the smaller one. It ended up being the perfect size once I compared it side by side to my old one.

Just a suggestion - You may want to move away from those windows if they're Vinyl, was at a party once where a flare up really did a number on vinyl siding and window. Nice grill though!!!

I grilled some chicken and asparagus tonight and baked a potato!

I agree, that’d be way too close to the house. That was just for a photo op.

That’s part of why I went with it. I can be lazy and the propane is just so damn easy. This grill was $379 at Home Depot before 10% mil discount so $359 OTD here. Really not too bad.

Jesus lol my Lowe’s and Home Depot are right next to each other, literally. I often go to Home Depot just because I can use my discount in the self checkout line by punching in my phone number.

Can do the same at Lowe's. HD doesn't care about vets, so I'm all Lowe's.
