When you use your shop and tools, it’s hard to keep it the way you want. Unless you give it 30 minutes to clean it every time you use it. Well that’s what happens in my case any way.

what’s the double barrel you are working on?

I have been in dozens of machine shops. The only ones that were ever clean were the ones that gave 20-30 minutes at the end of the shift to clean up. Unless you count the cleaning that happens the day before a customer is coming...

An old 1932 Stevens 235 sawed off dbl barrel. I got it given to me years ago. It was missing the rear stock, forend, forend iron, and left hammer. It took me three years of searching to find the iron and hammer. Now its down to fit and finish the stock/forend, then strip and blue it. It’ll be my camping security system as it breaks down easily. It is right on the line of being legal length. Just barely! I love it

When you get it finished, post up some pics. Those old Stevens will last forever if taken care of properly. I even have an old Stevens .22 single shot. Great squirrel gun.

soon my friend. :) I’m winding down projects on the house so the 4runner is making it higher on my to do list.

no garage is complete without a place to relax and have a cold one! :drunk::cheers:

got my regulator set up for the press today, set to 120 psi, with an extra drop for future use, as well as a drop before the regular to give the full 175 psi if ever needed.

Next up will be getting the press on some castors. Anyone have a recommendation for how to set it up? Should I build plates for the bottom and mount castors to that or just use the holes in the bottom mounts to put them in? I’m worried the legs might deflect if I don’t use a plate. Hoping for some real world experience, it’s obviously a lot easier to just use the existing holes but HF metal quality is not the greatest :anonymous:

I swear I thought we had this talk here before. I’ve got a shadow box, coins, Atta boy letters and more. The one thing that I’m most sentimental about is my first woobie. That woobie and I have been through hell together and made it to the other side. I still have it, and I still have my second which was bought from some mid to late ‘90s catalog outfit that came with thinsulate lining and a zipper with the unit credit card for us. Both woodland and specifically listed in my estate to transfer to my son upon my death.

My press isn't on castors, but I still had to weld support cross braces; I can only imagine it will be worse on castors. Just my experience

I love my ZF Rhodiecam one, but its narrower by 6 inches. So for broadshouldered me, it doesnt work as a standalone sleeping bag.

Maybe something retractable? The presses shake a lot during use as it is.
