Shoot me your address in a PM and a time you want to start fiddling.

I'd be coming from Forest Grove and have tomorrow pretty much free all day. We can start in the morning before it warms up.

Otherwise, I work Saturday and Sunday and won't be if much help.

Big thanks to @INSAYN for his help installing my sliders AND twisting my ear about camping, "landovering", trucks, fishing tournaments, plasma cutters, atvs, broken knees and old high school glory days! Now I just need to go out and try a few trails...

Had a good time hanging out, turning wrench with some good "ugggah duggahs" on the sliders, talking shop and reflecting on highschool running days. Soooo many things in common!

We WILL get together again for some reason or another (maybe even do some "landovering").

Also, damn what a great deal you got on that rig, bro!

I don't spend a lot of time targeting small freshwater fish much (I'm more for salmon, walleye and sturgeon, and anything salty), but when I do meet up with others to kayak fish for bass, we hit up Multinomah Channel (near docks), George Roger Park (Lake Owsego), Columbia River (between the 5's), and the Willy from downtown to Sellwood.

Sup ya'll! I'm finally looking into doing a suspension lift. Looking at doing 2"+/- 0.5 front and 2"+/- 0.5 rear. Anyone running a setup with this much lift? If so, what's your setup to achieve this, and is a test drive something you'd consider? Really looking to buy once cry once, but keeping the budget around $1.5-$2k. Lower the better, but keeping quality in mind.

You need to ask yourself a few priority questions before jumping in with both feet.

-What is your intended primary use of this truck. (Mall crawl, overland, rock crawl, jumping)

-What do you want to truck suspension to accomplish? (Lift, looks, up/travel)

-What tires size and wheel specs do you plan to use? (Wide, skinny, tall, stock)

-What is your "real" budget? (Money saved at this point, credit card, flat limit)

-Who is doing the install? (Personally, buddies, professionally)

After you put these into true perspective, you have to see what lifts, tire/wheel, install combo will fit your budget.

If you find your coming up short on budget, you need to reevaluate what is important and adjust accordingly.

I spent 3 years mulling over all these same criteria to decide my overall plan, and saved a lot of money along the way specifically for this project.

With tires, wheels, lift bits and pending front alignment, I am right at $7510. And I installed the lift myself.

Be honest with yourself and your expectations with the truck and your planned budget.

You definitely need to understand the long plan like @INSAYN said. But here is something worth considering:

With that kit, be sure to factor in the assembly of the coil over. If you already have the spring compressor or access to one for DIY, you're set. If not, plan to spend more money on a safe spring compressor, or pay a shop to install the coil on the shock for you.

Thanks, appreciate that input. I've been figuring this out for a good while. I'm really to a point at trying to figure out the type of ride I want, I think.

To answer what you've laid out though -
Primary use is daily driver, overlanding and wheeling. It probably sees about 60% on road and 40% off road. I do a lot of adventuring.

I want the suspension to accomplish a lift for better approach/departure angles, and definitely for looks no lies there lol. And for a better ride off/on road, almost certain I want something a bit stiffer. Stock feels too rolly and bouncy. And of course just to be better suspension than stock.

Tire size is more than likely staying as is which is 265/75r16 (32s). I really have no desire to go bigger.

Real budget including install $3000. I could spend more, but I really don't want to.

Install will most likely be both close friend/myself and then alignment elsewhere. But friend might have his shop full when it comes time, so could all end up being installed professionally.
