I can't speak to the SAIS delete, but I can tell you it's tricky to remove and reinstall. You can access the lower bolt to the bracket through the wheel well. Getting the rear steel pipe off the studs while trying to remove the bracket requires some leverage and a bit of luck. Be sure the new gaskets stay in place.

Is your SAI delete already done?

Was just wondering if the install should be just like pre '12 or if there is still something to be aware of during install.

Thats about how long it took me doing everything right and fixing gaskets which became dislodged on the truck for one reason or another. The improvement is not in your head. The cam gears are designed to allow for a cleaner more thorough burn so what you actually feel is a physical running improvement. Like most owners who note an improved running condition after 15-20,000 mile initial "break in," it's just the cam gears wearing to allow for .5 degrees of retard. It's not just in their head either. The engine is running better, they just don't know why.

The SAIS reinstall is tricky, especially if you have done the delete prior to all this. Primarily the bolt at the wheel well. I fought that thing with a co worker because the SOB wouldn't thread back in without a second pair of hands.

So if I don't plan on reinstalling SAIS after gear install I should be good?

I did my SAIS delete with my cam gears. I bought a preSAIS valve cover off EBay for a cleaner look and installed it on the way back out. Other than that it’s the same.

You need it turned off before it gets removed.

I'm not sure what you are attempting to install or how you intend on accomplishing it so I can't say yes or no. Are you going to rip out all of the SAI system and block off the tubes at the manifolds themselves?

Already done all of that. I was just inquiring if the procedure for installing the gears will differ now?

Yeah, you would have less overall steps and no need to bolt that BS SAI manifold back up to the block and valve cover if it's already deleted.
