I put my windows update on “metered connection” so it only will download the updates I’m ok with. The big 2004 is pending until after I flash the final 2.0, then I’ll do the computer update. Just in case. :anonymous:

I'm sure there is gonna be more than just the few things that people are changing in vF in Mat's performance and gearlock tunes. Just sayin.

With all the options he offered in the initial run, it's a full time job just getting all the parts sorted, including the 100 different changes everyone made with catted vs non catted, not to mention getting all the instructions done, boxing parts up, finishing the tunes for all the different options. Still a lot of work to do. Jobs that pay less fall to the wayside.

Any suggestions for the most responsive/powerful 93 octane tune while waiting for "performance"
    ?

Got kinda bored of the base 2.0 87 octane so wouldn't mind going back to one of the older Ole tunes in the meantime:D

I got bored also so yesterday I went back to the 1.05 93 octane performance tune. I never should have left it as it was really nice to have the extra power. I will keep it until the 2.0 performance tune comes out.

He's said before they are working on multiple things at once, so I'm sure it's in the works.

Wish I could but i don't even know if me with the OFT handheld can even do vftuner yet. Im patient either way with a reply to getting vftuner or the final 2.0 but i mostly want it for alternator tuning for my Group 31 Odyssey battery

Good luck buddy, hope you get it all worked out.
If you have the OVtune kit (with your handheld), Vftuner will be your best bet. And kit owners get it for $79.

So what is it that you can change battery output with VF tuner? I just installed a AGM Northstar but I don’t pull a camper or have a winch......

The stock alternator setting does not put out enough voltage to fully charge an AGM battery. VF Tuner allows the output to be changed. The how-to is somewhere in the vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma thread...

I'm considering a snorkel or air intake of some kind. Anything to stay away from in regards to running an OVTuned ECU?

nah. i have the TRD intake, i doesn't change anything really, but i like it because the inlet takes from the wheel well, where the stock one takes from both the well and the bay, so in theory air temps may be reduced. ain't nobody got issues from running intakes like that. but i mention it because with the sensitivity of this motor, those air temp changes (reducing or removing bay-warmed air) may be a factor for tweaking things down the line.

Thanks for the link...... I don’t have, don’t plan on getting VF so is keeping my battery charged in jeopardy?

it may reduce its life, maybe its extreme weather performance, others may have good info about it. i can say this, however: there are quite a few folks around here who have run AGMs for a long time, years, on stock tune trucks.

Ran mine on the stock tune truck for over a year. No issues. People freak out about batteries way more than necessary. You’ll get a little more life and capacity with the extra voltage but its not going to be a huge impact for most people.

You could always buy a charger and stick it on there every once in awhile.
