    On the way home from Philly Friday I got a call from my sister telling me mom(82) fell and broke her arm and dislocated her shoulder. Hospital just let us know they are discharging her and transporting her to rehab center for a few days until she is more stable on her feet. Meanwhile, dad(82) is still recovering at home from a farm implement that closed down on his right hand and tore all the skin off the top of his hand. That happened the week before. Been a rough weekend :rolleyes: caring for both in separate places...but they are worth it. They've been the most amazing parents through the years!!!

    Question for the group, both those retired and about to retire... Do you use the services of a financial advisor? If so, why and is it worth it? I'm not implying that it isn't, just want to know the reasons why people use them, and perhaps why folks don't. TIA.

    Yes, I am currently using a financial advisor for my retirement planning, and I have for many years. I always say that I’m Maintenance and Transportation, so I’m OK with contracting out some tasks. That said, it’s not something you want to neglect. Make time for frequent meetings and checkups several times a year. They work for you and it’s up to you to make them work for you.
